I don't care what some women are doing in a tv/movie. I dont need some overpaid writer to tell me how a woman should act, my mother taught me that. It really comes down to, do what makes you happy, not what some money hungry media freak told you what to do. Oh and those girls are just threatened cause it just gives you an edge on nabbing a boy, =)

Well everyone, I finished Zack and Wiki yesterday. My second completed game for the year! No more leaving games uncompleted this year, I'm off to a good start, so yay me!

If any of you haven't played it yet, I highly recommend it. Great mix of adventure and puzzling, and it utilised the Wiimote, imo, better than most, if not all, of the games to date. Really, the Wii was made for a game like it, and I'm surprised it has taken them over a year to release something of the like. I really hope they continue with the series, and it wasn't a one off. The ending did leave it open for continuation - a million new games if you want to take what was said literally - so I really hope they follow through on that. Get behind it, for the reason we are stuck with crap cheap games, is because people don't get behind little gems like Zack and Wiki.

It's quite sad when you finish a game There's that happy feeling of completion, but there's also a sense of loss! You've spent all this time growing to love the characters, getting used to the gameplay, and then it's over My god, what a girly thing to say. But I think that's why I never fully complete games anymore, I don't want them to be over!

BUT! I have a mission! To go back through and finish all the games I haven't as yet.... But I'm starting on Bully first

Having read the past few posts, i must say im still rather perplexed as to the reason that girl gamers seem so rare. I mean is it that we ARE in fact rare, or merely rarely SEEN?
In my mind there doesnt seem to be any logical reason for the gender gap in gaming, why on earth are guys drawn to it more then us girls?

Do we really just run cause we dont understand it? Or is it really an 'immature' pastime. Neither of those ideas seem reasonable, i meet all too many mature minded women through this site, and they are all smart, witty, and sometimes know as much and even more about computers and gaming as their male counterparts...

I do however think environment plays a big factor, I started playing games at 3 because of my next door neighbours having a SMS and I never stopped.
One of my best friends in school was female and we played games together all the time, but eventually she focused on school and other activities like sports then eventually stopped.

I think this mystery is harder to solve then the meaning of life

I may not be Omi but I'll give you my opinion.

I'm just like you I love my girly games but I'll be out there playing GTA or Halo with the boys too. I don't think it has to necessessarily do with being a girl but instead with personality of the girl. Girls & guys for the most part just like different things. There is just that percentage of girls happen to like "guy" stuff too.

Trust me, guys secretly like girly stuff too but are too "manly" to admit it. There's been a few times I've caught my boyfriend of 5 years liking girly things. Just last month I walked into his house & he was watching The Devil Wears Prada & actually liked it.

Thats the game I started with too ! I think it definitely planted the seed with me...it was just so much fun and colorful and it was a real family game, I remember my dad used to sit with my sister and I and play it - It's still his favorite game !

And another guy just kinda looks at my funny, like "girls don't play games, you're weird".

As for my girl friends, the couple that do know either think I'm weird for it, or don't say anything, and the rest don't know I play video games.

Actually you know i dont know that my gaming habits have ever really been an issue with my friends, but then that may have more to do with my actual friend choices then with the perceptions of society.

Most of my guy friends are just as much or even more into games then i am, and my female friends probably dont know all that much about it, they sometimes have a crack too but mostly dont bother all to much about it.

If i think about the people ive known who arent my friends though, thats we're id likely come up against issues, like at school i can only imagine i would have been made fun of by some of the girls because i was interested in games and 'geeky' things, but i guess it doesnt really bother me, i didnt like those girls anyway, they werent the sorts of people that i WANTED to be friends with so it doesnt really matter what they thought.
