hmmm...I have so many fond memories of retro games. I remember playin Robo-Cop,Punch-Out,Ducktales,Paperboy with my dad...it's so funny to think back on it. I think I still have all those games somewhere.

My favorites would have to be Legend of Zelda, SMB 3 (I'm getting flashbacks of the music as we speak), Mega Man, & Castlevania.

As for a game I plan on getting next, most likely Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 or of course Brawl (which is released here in about a month)

I'd go out and hire Zak and Wiki if you can. It's fun but you could beat it in a couple of days of solid play. A little easy except for the last 3-4 areas.

Hiring games can be a bit tricky where I am. I can't go to blockbuster anymore (err long story) and Video Ezy have only just started stocking Wii games, they don't have many. I doubt it will be a game they'll get in a hurry.

I'm still interested to buy it, even if it is a quick play, although the "easy" doesn't sound good..
I find it hard to find the damn time to sit down and have a good solid 'gaming session', so it could end up taking me months to finish anyway

Oh. I said err don't ask because it's really not that very interesting. Just an accumulation of fines over time, it was all a man's fault Ya see, there are two Blockbusters, both seperate franchises, you get a vid out from one store and you have to take it back to that store. So I tell the man that "you have to take it back to such and such store" "yeah, yeah, I know", because he'd taken it to the wrong store but a week or so earlier, and I made him go back and get it and take it to the right store, hehe. So what does he do? Takes it back to the wrong store, again. But I don't find out for another week or so, when Blockbuster finally realises that they have a video that's not meant to be in their posession, and ring the other store, who rings me and tells me I have a ridiculously large fine. How can it take so damn long for them to realise that they have a video that they shouldn't? So I refused to pay.

See, not very interesting

Lol poor omi!
Having worked at a video store before i see both your point and blockbusters'. There are usually practices in place which mean that a video store will call or text you once the movie is overdue (and these should deffinately be both used and applauded), however it's really only a courtesy call/text/reminder. They actually have no responsibility to notify you of any mistake...

Either way though, i have to side with you on this one in the end omi, i mean they were obviously intending to just let the bill rack up if it went so long without them noticing you.
Beware the failure to pay your fine though - a debt collector is usually only months away and that can give you a bad credit rating!

Yeah, I got the letter telling me it would be sent off to a debt collection agency. I was expecting big dudes in black suits to turn up asking for the money, but it never happened, that would of been cool.
This was about four years ago, and I've had a credit check since then, all clear so they must of been bluffing They've probably forgotten about it now, but I'm not going back on principle Surely they would have realised it wasn't their video as soon as they checked it in to the store?!
Video Ezy is way better anyways.

That is rather sad that the store it was returned to didn't realise it wasn't there video. It surely wasn't making it's way back to the shelves for re-hiring very quickly if they didn't notice.

I once had my mother return some dvds for me that I happened to remember were due back when I wasn't home. She managed to also "return" a non-rented dvd of mine. Only my mother could translate "just the pile next to the tv" to grab whatever is remotely near the tv. Luckily I got a phone call later in the day from the video store asking was I missing anything. Was mighty impressed with that one.

Last time I hired a game was a Gamecube one about 6 months ago... PicMan (sp?) and I forgot to take it back for 2 weeks. Once I returned it I didn't need to go back until recently and they said I had a $60 fine..?! The game was barely worth that new

They actually still have Gamecube games on overnight prices and don't seem to realise a whole new game console from Nintendo exists

We end up just buying Wii games cause no where near where we live has Wii games to rent...

Well if you still want to play GC games, the Wii plays them quite happily as long has you have a GC mem card and controller, Chobits. oh, and i think the game you're thinking of is "Pikmin" (i want a Wii version of that very, very badly).

I know how annoying it is to have a console, but not be able to rent any games for it. Video Ezy here have a large selection of everything else, expect for PS3 games.

You should've made the guy pay the debt. After all it was his fault.
I can see your point in not wanting to pay the fine though. It took them long enough to figure out they had the wrong things.
And I'm sure he wasn't the only one to get the two shops mixed up, so they would've know to watch out for wrong DVDs/games.

If you can be bothered, and can manage to read through this whole thread, then do. It may give you some idea of why there is a girl gamers thread. If you can't be bothered doing that, then I'd suggest you leave the pointless comments out of here, they'll just disappear

You love girls because they're so entertaining with their "girlness"? Well, thank god for that, I'd hate to think you loved them for their "guyness" that could of been weird...
What does that even mean? In relation to the post you quoted? Is it because Djinn said waffle in that way? Are you calling Djinn a girl?
