God, where do I start? What an idiotic thing to say, for many-a-reason. I don't think it was meant as a way of saying "girls don't have a clue what they're doing, so give them something simple to wrap their stupid little minds around" but it has managed to say that anyway. Although I'm not offended because of that, what it was trying to say was just as stupid. It's a way of marketing at girls, but doing it through their male acquaintances. they see it that if they release a great game on PS3 or 360, they will get alot more back, and will be able to create a better game (because 360 and PS3 are more powerful) and this is 100% true.

The reason given for the lack of third-party support by the third-party developers themselves is that they underestimated the success of Wii. They thought that 360 and PS3 would be clear winners, and made software for those two. It's only after the sales figures came in after the Wii launch that they began making Wii games, and because games these days take years to develop, we will only see multi-platform ports and shovelware for a year or two yet.

So are you saying that if a third party developer came to Nintendo with an awesome idea for a game, something with real promise, that Ninty would reject it? Because they don't want to be shown up? It's not that Ninty aren't as fond of third parties as the other two consoles, it's that the other two consoles are more reliant on the third party developers for their games. I mean, show me a first party Sony game, or a 360 game apart from Halo that is anywhere near the ranks of Mario or Zelda. What's that? there aren't any? Oh, I see...*refer to first sentence of this paragraph*

No, because no decent developers wanna make games for wii. whats with all these "what if's". Everyone knows wii get a lesser quality games from the very few developers cause they don't think the wii can handle it. for example resident evil "umbrella chronicles" instead of the actual version for PS3.

the fact that PS3 and Xbox are "reliant" on 3rd party games is a good thing. This means that 3rd party devs make good games for the console. Unlike the wii where they release a bad version of the good game on wii. And so what if ninty has more trademark game, 3rd party developers make great games for the 360 and PS3 and it doesn't if it is 1st party or not, as long as their good.

i havent heard of this. you make it seem like this is happening lots.
please name 3 games that where scrapped from development of the PS3 to be re-developed for the wii

the wii has lots of games that appeal to a younger audience. eg. mario, ect. these also appeal to older audiences, but compared to the other 2 consoles, the wii has alot more "kiddy" games which attract a younger audience.Therefor, if a "hardcore" game is being developed

well, this is in the topic of the thread because you where all complaining about how you don't want girls games developed for young girls (children). and hence my point being, games made by nintendo have a more child friendly approach (which isn't a bad thing). And you keep saying, you want less childlike games/girly games to come out, and make games for "human beings" then in my opinion (thats wat forums are about, voicing opinion) 3rd party developers make better games than ninty for what you want.

ninty=======good, but still child appealing games
3rd party developers==========good ones creat more indepth games

SO, back to my point, if more 3rd party developer make games for the wii, then there are more games to appeal for EVERYONE

Your point of lesser quality games isn't a good one. Yes, we all know that the Wii isn't as capable graphics wise, and doesn't have the blu-ray or the HD to handle more complex games, but that doesn't mean it's incapable of giving us anything but s**t games. Resi-UC was a good thing. Sure, we don't get the pleasure of playing the beauty that will be Resi 5, but the Wii isn't built for such a game, but that doesn't mean it's crap!!!

I'm getting sick of people expecting it to live up to the other two consoles, it's just not going to happen. And if that means that we get games specifically designed for the Wii instead of chopped up, half arsed quality ports of the other consoles then that is a great thing! Resi -UC is a great game!

--Why is it a good thing that they're reliant on 3rd parties? I would say it is neither good nor bad, but necessity because their first party games suck balls, whereas Ninty have a great first party line-up, aswell as third party support!
