The irony being that computer nerds through out time have always dreamt of having girls interested in games. The moment they get interested, the nerds shoo them away.

Yeah I went in to our local EB a few months ago with a friend of mine whose a girl and is into gaming. We were the only people in there and when we went in the three guys behind the counter were all involved in a deep conversation about some pretty unsavoury topics. After ignoring us for about thirty seconds, and after my friend heard what they were talking about, she said "lets go" and we left as quickly as we came!

Sadly theres no JB around here and our KMart only ever has about two games in stock. We are getting a GAME soon though, can anybody say if theyre good?

No I know from experience that retail is a low paid ****ty job, but hey, if you're in it you better do it properly.

Call their head office and complain about the store. Or ask to see the manager there and then. If he/she isn't there ask to speak to them on the phone. Get the little snot noses in trouble for being so **** at a job a dead monkey could do.

Game is pretty much like EB (well, least it is around my way..).

I have often found that when going into EB to ask for things for my boyfriend ( he's at school all week so doesn't have time) they always try to pull the wool over my eyes...For example I went to trade some games for Guitar Hero and they tried to tell me it was for Wii only...so I made them get a catalogue out and had to point out I was right to them!

Thats so ridiculous... I dont even pay attention to how rude the guys are at game stores anymore. I know what i'm doing there and i dont need their approval!!!

Lol as for a story, i went to EB to trade in some games one time and they offered me $5 for a game... ARE THEY SERIOUS????
Went to Game Traders and took out over $40 more. Although the guy tried to convince me the games were scratched..
One of them had only been played twice, i asked him to show me the scratches and he looked at the back of the disc again and said "oh no, your right they arent scratched... Dont know whats going on with me today"

I know what was going on... The noob tried to RIP ME OFF!!!

GAME are sometimes nice. Where my parents live there are two GAME's fairly close to each other. At one of them I was treated like Tweety at EB, but at the other one the manager was really nice and didn't treat me like I wasn't supposed to be there.

They've usually got pretty good trade-in deals, so you might have better luck there than at EB. I've only been to one EB that was OK, but most of them I get similar "What are you doing here?" treatment.

I obviously don't have the nerdy 16-year-old gamer look...

Edit: Sorry to any 16 year olds out there!

In my local stores here in scotland (uk)there's no difference. In gamestation theres a girl manager and 1 girl staff and 2 male also in the "game" stores over here there seems to be more girl satff than boy stff.

Its more a case of if you got the cash and the love of the games its all good. When there's instore compo's theres always a good mixed crowed.

Absoluetly, i would rather pay a few dollars extra to be treated with some respect. If im not greeted in a welcoming manner in a store, i'm very likely to just walk back out again...

I learned about it from a guy who's a buyer for a designer fashion label. He said that it's a big thing in expensive clothes and fashion stores. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a trained tactic in some other places, although sales reps can have bad attitudes all by themselves!

In fact, that could be a good thing for the site anyway, maybe not with the drag, but a little video of you 'reviewing', if you will, game stores. Judging them on knowledge, price etc etc!
