Sorry to spoil it for you, but running Bioshock on Max is not much of an achievement. I'm on 2.4Ghz single core AMD Athlon, 2GB RAM and overclocked 512MB Geforce 7900GS, and it runs beautifully.

The Unreal Engine is famously scalable. People have reportedly got it running on max quality on laptops.

If you really want to try your computer, grab the PC port of Stranglehold.

I still maintain that you should get a gig more RAM.

The only person on this thread who needed help was Rus_A7, and the only solution for his problem is to get a new video card.

Min requirements for Bioshock: 2.4Ghz single core, 1GB RAM, video card with 128MB and Shader Model 3 support.

Recommended: Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, video card with 512MB and Shader Model 3 support.

Anyway, I run my games mid-high (just above mid settings) as I do not care about hte fine details, and I am happy, even though I have only a 256mb graphics card. And I guess having access to direct X 10 does help.

What do you want to use it for? You can't play games unless you have a graphics cards specifically for playing games, and it will probably cost you $300-900 just for that.

Also, don't get so much RAM. RAM only stores instructions for the CPU to process, and if your CPU is fast (you should be getting at least 2.4Ghz) then all that RAM is storing nothing, and going to waste. 2GB is enough.

Also, a multicard reader is, like, $20 if you know where to look. Check your pricing.

When you have 7 IDE devices and limited space, it's kind of hard to manage the wires.
It's a bad angle to see the wires, but the mess is only around the hdd's. CPU has good airflow.

It runs Windows Vista surprisingly well. You do notice it to be a little slower than XP, mainly because my HDD's are on IDE interface still. I've found file transfers are a little slower than XP.

Having the 9800XT definately helps, especially for Windows Aero (it's a given you need a graphics card to utilise all of Windows Vista's functions). Except when it comes to firing games up, there's a mix bag of different problems, from hanging to nothing happening. I can only assume Bioshock should run fine under Vista. Is it DX 10 compatible?

Yucky, you're on 533mhz ram? I would never run anything less than my motherboard/cpus max FSB. If you have 667mhz ram on a motherboard/cpu combo capable of 800mhz, you are really letting yourself down. If you want a fair comparison of power, download 3dMark05: www.futuremark.com/
