Also, that 26" LCD TV is sitting on top of it at this moment. It has a hojillion inputs. I'm very pleased.

simple uninstall, delete the eset registry entry and reinstall. no crack required. stay away from cracks if you can, they are soo riddled with Trojans, viruses etc.

Lol norton and avast are crap, AVG isnt that bad.

And dude, its not hard to make an icon up.

Trend-Micro are/used to be good, they seem to pick up a bit too much lately though.

Well I haven't come across a nasty file with a different icon when it comes to cracks...

So what do you use now, since you seem to believe that everyone else is wrong and that you're right!

I dont think that mate, i think that some people just beleive what they are told without actually researching it.

Ive never had a virus with AVG. CA arent bad, as you said disable the firewall. Trend-micro do some decent ones. Most of the time its what you look up anyways.

I use trend-micro a lot and havent had issues, it runs a real time scan and doesnt use that much memory so its quite an efficient program.

I dont need something to delete temp stuff, i do that all myself.

As for spyware, spybot used to be pretty good, now that i have found it lets things through and doesnt pick up some fairly harmful things. I have also used superantispyware i think which cleared up a lot of crap.

Ive also heard only good things about NOD32.

And there are dodgy cracks with icons around, a mate actually installed one on his PC and i had to fix it. Just depends on the chap that makes it really.

Im not thinking i know it all cobs. Im just voicing my opinion, most of the time its not the antivirus, its the bloke looking at porn sites and downloading torrents and just not scanning.

Oh its my external usb drive. when i connect it It disables my adsl connection on my dynalink modem/router connected via Ethernet. its really weird. dynalink have no clue and anyone else i have asked are out of ideas to.

Yeah, but you didn't answer his question, do you have UPnP enabled in your modem settings. Go into the settings and have a look around for it if you're unsure. By default, it should be enabled. If it isn't, then enable it. I was also thinking that this could be the problem, but I didn't think it would be.

Yeah check UPnP mate, If not try a factory restore on the router.

But yeah plugging in a USB device and your net ****ting itself sounds like UPnP.

Im trying it now

Ok.

UPnP was enabled so i unchecked it, hit apply, reset the modem(soft reset) and tried the drive. Didnt work.

So then i did a full factory reset, unchecked UPnP and tried it again. no good.

It might be worth noting that it only does it to hard wired computers. when i connect it to my laptop its fine.

The modem is connected to the computer via ethernet cable. when i plug the usb drive into the computer the modem looses its PPP & DSL connection, the lights go off and internet drops out. The network is still active, i can still view and share files across computers.

Its as if i have gone into the modems config page and clicked disconnect dsl.
