i bought freeloader because my version of wiikey was 1.9g and it wouldnt play brawl, so i bought a freeloader, then a new update for the wiikey came out after i bought it. so thats why i have it. is good but cuz i still use it.

It should work after that. I recently did the exact thing you just described for my cousin. Also ran the Galaxy update to 3.0e.

I had a backup copy of SSBB US working on my PAL Wii (I believe it was at 3.2E), after updating Wiikey to 1.9s, using a DVD-R Dual layer disc (which apparently DVD- isn't supposed to work...)

It ran, but sometimes the whole game would run at slow speed (only sometimes). I tried the un-deflicker, 60Hz trick but my TV wouldn't support 60Hz.

Out of curiosity, I burned the new configdisc, since I downloaded it at the same time. Checked out the new settings, wanted disc speed to be 6X so I set that, saved the settings and exited.

Once the Wii restarted, I can't load any backup games or GC discs (including Wiikey updates, configdiscs and wiikey 1.9b recovery disc). Original games load OK.

This sounds like a fried Wiikey to me - Anyone else agree with me?

I don't know....maybe try to run the disk again. but then again it doesnt really remove the channels. I think it just 'hides' them from some where i have read....

About it not being able to run GC games, I'm having fairly simiar problems running melee...I just keep ejecting and putting the games back in. I thought that i put in an original, let it come up, then eject in and put in the GC game....try having a play around with it.

burnt at 2.4x? did u use the whole Layer-break or whatever its called

Dunno why nobody else has gotten it working with a -ve DL disc...

Configdisc was probably done at 2X as well, single-layer disc filechopped to 1.4GB, nero as well (what are the chances of a bad burn causing the bad flash write?)

Has anybody else heard of the new configdisc disabling genuine Wiikeys?

Forgot to mention, after I ran the channel remover and put Brawl back in, it asked me to run the Brawl update again, which gave me the duplicate channels back.

ok i have read around and i have learned that the game Mario Kart Wii has an update in it that blocks freeloader from working. at the moment, i have been using the freeloader to play brawl because when i put brawl into my wii it asks for an update and i fear that it will ruin my wii and i dont want that to happen. i have used the alternate way with the freeloader that allows the update to happen, but when i put brawl in by itself it asks for the update again!

i am desperate for some help because i wish to play mario kart wii. thnx in advance to who ever can help me.

ok make sure u have 3.2E and wiikey 1.9s on ur wii. I put brawl in and let the update happen, it updates then resets then it plays. that is what i have done. then u just have to change settings on tv to either 50hz or 60hz and turn deflicker(in game) on/off (that is if u need to do it) but yer, if u do that, it should work, sorry if it doesnt help

EDIT: i was wondering if it was ok to turn my wiis internet back on now, because i havent hasd it on since i had the wiikey installed. i asked ozmodchips, but they havent replied yet, they may be gettin annoyed with me, i have asked so many questions lol does anyone know if it si ok to turn it back on and allow firmware updates and to downloaded channels and stuff? thnx to whoever can help me

nope i didnt get duplicate channels

maybe it was because i already had them... but i really was expecting more dup. channels

anyawys it doesnt matter.. u can remove them now

hmm i guess i ca try to remove them, i never burned anything b4 lol the double channels dont really affect me much but the freezing thing does

EDIT: yay i fixed my problem with the freezing, but with the problem with the double channels, i dont really mind so they can stay at the far end of the channels

Don't think you should get the freezing efect with the original. Does it always happen? It could just be a one off....hopefully...

1. I dumped the original NTSC copy of Brawl with Friidump 0.4
2. Burned using Imgburn with a Verbatim DVD+R DL at 2.4x. Did the layer break at 2084960. Didn't alter the image file with Regionfrii or Brickblocker.

This was my first attempt, it works perfectly for me and so far the game hasn't crashed or anything. I still have to turn deflicker off every time I finish playing and I have to look at a blank screen for 20 seconds before the opening video plays. Hope this helps anyone!
