The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Reviews \ Detail

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - 10/10

The one a lot of us have been waiting for, Twilight Princess (TP) has not only raised the bar for Zelda titles but all other games alike.

Gameplay: Many, if not, all the people who wanted Zelda were worried about the controls of this game. Dont be. The controls are not hard and they make the experience much more alive. Also riding on your horse and fighting is endlessly fun. However its the small things that count right? The small but new feature to zelda is that you can run and swing your sword at the same time!

Graphics: Now the graphics are not overly amazing but as long as it was a step up from Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask, they did not phase me. While most of it realistic you can see the occasional wind waker graphics come through with certain enemies and such. Another little grouch is the platforms can be too square and obvious..which can steer away its realness. Other than that the rest if beautiful.

Music: Im not a music know it all but what I do know is that it wasnt orcestrated. Therefore people who know their music might feel that its a let down, but to my ears it was great. The music in a lot of scenes and set the tension and create the atmosphere.

Value: TP is a game, like OoT, where you can have fun without going anyfurther into the story. There are lots of extras the game provides, for example mini-dungeons, collecting certain things and you could even do your own thing like running around in the feild and bashing some more enemies.

Overall: In TP im going to have to say that its strong points are the story and the controls. Id much prefer a wii version than a Gamecube version. The story is much darker and can suck you right in. So beware!! Do not neglect your family...as i did. But one thing im sure of, if you have played any other Zelda game, this one will raise the bar and become your next favourite (setting aside the WW and aLttP fanatics).

I agree that Ocarina of Time was the title that had the most significance. Have a look around at video game rankings on the internet and you'll see that Ocarina of Time still ranks as the greatest video game of all time. I disagree with the comment about without OOT, the series would be dead. There was always going to be a new Zelda game, and the series has always been in more than capable hands, so there was never any danger of the series disappearing completely.

Best Zelda title yet is my own opinion, and isn't shared by everyone. It may change over time, but that's how I feel right now.
