Well, the majority of HM's ARE useless, infact, the only ones that are good in battle are Surf and Waterfall.
It sucks, and I wish they were removed (or at least deletable normally). A better system would be that any Pokemon that can use a HM, automatically knows it and it can be used outside of battle, and doesn't waste a moveslot, I mean, why does my Scyther need to know Cut to chop down a tree? It makes no sense and just hinders the game.

Agreed, Galactic were lame and had horrible haircuts, with Cyrus being the generic "OMG NO ONE LUVZ ME! I WANNA BECOME A GOD, BOO HOO!!" villian that is all too common in RPGs, and Team Aqua and Magma just....ugh, their plan was stupid beyond belief, their only saving grace was that Aqua dressed as pirates.

Rocket however, had believable goals, moderate success and a kickass leader. Giovanni is awesome, in fact, so awesome that Rocket were literally begging to have him back in G/S/C (and I assume HG/SS)!

Oh and Rocket took over a whole damn town, THAT'S something!

Let's not mention the show, it's garbage, and is full of crap, like "AIM FOR THE HORN!", "FINISH IT OFF WITH A FALSE SWIPE!", "USE THUNDER ARMOUR!" and saying that Arbok evolves into Seviper. Not to mention how Ash's Pikachu lost to a Magikarp....

Lot's of differences, like a Safari Zone, lot's more legendaries to catch, Gym Leader rematches, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I'm not going to spoil.
