A new version of Wii Fit is planned for later this year. This new version will have a more accurate balance board and will allow users to compete with friends and family over the Internet to lose weight and other activities.

It won't be a new board, Nintendo wouldn't do that.
The new peripheral is actually a floor. It takes up your whole living room, each one is customised for each individual customer.

This is odd, the Wii Fit is doing well and so popular. Is it to perhaps stimulate the japanese frenzy again over the Wii Fit games? Since it's mostly abandoned in Japan?

Is the Wii Fit Plus going to make the Wii Fit obsolete? If so then I can imagine there will be plenty of annoyed customers (like me)

Yeah, thats what I mean about bringing out a new balance board. If they do that the current one will be obsolete and all the people who currently have one will be really annoyed (like me as well)

I doubt they would do that to the current Wii Fit install base. My guess is that they intend to add to the Wii Fit concept and it will be a new disc with exercises that incorporate the Wii motion + accessory.

All will be revealed over the next few days

It's out now(October 15th it came out), I'm interested in getting it but I want to know...does the actual game itself have the Wii Fit games AND the Wii Fit Plus games? Or does the WF and WFP have entirely different games? If so, what has more? I'd be getting WFP anyways..but I was curious about this.

If you don't have the balance board yet, it's cheaper to buy Wii Fit with it and Wii Fit Plus standalone (at least at my closest Jb hifi) than the wii fit plus bundle (save $12)
