I got 65, got into an arts degree worth 75. All I had to do was wait for a second offer. If you think it's working for you, go for it, but in my experience with VCE it absolutely is not true about 'get out what you put in'... they take nothing into account apart from your end result. It's such a fickle system, a person can not be summed up in one number... e.g. they don't take into account the amount of effort you put in, hours, class participation, your notes, etc... the stuff that is far more important in actually doing a degree, than your ****ing end result... I worked so hard and was so burned out after year 12, I worked a lot harder than some people who got in the 80s and 90s, I just made the mistake of not doing it the way I was supposed to, fumbling the exam and getting ****ed over for a few tiny mistakes. But good luck anyway man, as long as you're enjoying it, you should have better luck than I did.
