The Wii Guitar Hero III is set for release alongside the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 3 builds later this year and it will bring at least one immediate advantage to the home concert stage - at least over previous versions. The Wii guitar shell will almost certainly be wireless due to the very nature of the Wii console. Unless Activision and RedOctane choose to plug the guitar into Wii's GameCube docking port - highly unlikely - it's going to need to utilize the Wii remote's wireless functionality. This truth makes the Wii build immediately attractive for Guitar Hero fans who have for years complained that the peripheral is wired. Theoretically, Activision could cut costs by using all the functionality of the Wii remote, including its accelerometer for the tilt-based "rock out" motions that have become a staple of the franchise. We envision the custom-designed guitar for the Wii iteration of the title as follows, slick-white presentation and all.

OMFG That is possibly the coolest looking peripheral on any system I have ever seen, real or otherwise.
I am not a big fan of the series but this is a step towards what the Wii is yet to come and awakening some of its potential.

Guitar Hero III is the first Guitar Hero game I've ever played and that was today (sad, I know) when my friend gave me it for a late Christmas present.
It got me hooked instantly, great game. No complaints except probably for the audience which appears to be about 3 different people just cloned in random places. Apart from that, top stuff.

I read in the Australian yesterday that Guitar Hero III is the best selling game in gaming history for all consoles... that's pretty impressive

We only just got ours, but our whammy bar has stopped working has anyone else had that problem?

man this game is legendary i got it the day it came out and i still havent finished expert ,, but ive managed to get perfect on 7 songs on expert,, cant be saved,, and metal heavy lady are the easiest but cant be saved and amonsters are my fav songs

I Personally Like Guitar Hero 2
Because The Controller For The 3rd Video Game was Very Uncomfortable And Clingy
the Controller For the 1 & 2 Series Really Was Nice And Smooth And Easy To Hit Buttons
As For The Songs... The Songs In No.3 Were VERY GOOD indeed
as for the songs in 1 & 2 they werent bad but werent good.

but i think id have to say Guitar hero 2 was better in the controls but in songs id have to say Guitar Hero 3 Made an impact on there songlist

well if youre like me and you just like chill out and play quickplay and beat high scores i reckon this is heaps better. The songs are better, in the way that they are more suited to guitar hero rather than just being good songs (eg. Today - Smashing Pumpkins is a great song but is hardly challenging on world tour). To me world tour feels like its done on the cheap, the difficulty is inconsistent between songs and the wii version has woeful graphics. IMO GH3 will be the classic GH as it was the first across all platforms and has killer songs (Fire and Flames, Cherub Rock, Even Flow etc.). World tour's a bit gimmicky and GH3 has a much better quality to it. Get III mate
