Wii Software \ I'm selling my Wii :(

Now I know I am am on a Wii fan site, but I am going to express this because I am very curious to see how many of you, if any, have been let down by Nintendo.

Now before I get all of you posting "bla bla dont whinge about Nintendo go somewhere else" or "you're an idiot" etc. I just want to say I have ALWAYS been a HUGE Nintendo fan, I bought my Wii at the 12am release and still own all the classic consoles and have a massive collection of games that I still play. Also this is a Nintendo forum, I can post whatever critic I like whether it be good or bad, I cannot be wrong in my opinion, as it is simply, my opinion. Here are my points.

Ok, so whenever someone buys a console they are generally waiting for that consoles big exclusive games, and when I bought the wii, so was I. Not to mention the fact that I had to wait months and months for any of the games to come out(other than zelda), none of them lived up to their standards except Metroid Prime 3, which is awesome.

Galaxy makes me want to have a seizure, and thats probably the most exciting thing about it, apart from story line.

Super Paper Mario was a lot of fun, but I can hardly compare they playing time to the time spent watching those terribly long drawn out childish cut scenes every five minutes of the game.

Resident Evil: UC was a BIG dissapointment. It was a great game, but I have played all the R/E games religiously on Gamecube and Wii should have R/E 5, but instead we got a mockery first person shooter.

Red Steel was great fun, but not at all a high quality game, and again lasted a couple days. The graphics were worse than Goldeneye on 64.

And there was another big game, Brawl, which I’m sure probably would meet all my standards… sometime in the next few years.

This brings me to the next point, the Wii has a great internet system, so why on earth are so very few games online multiplayer, or online at all, I mean all these channels are great as a novelty, but when it comes down to it a console is for gaming. I mentioned above that I love Metroid 3, but I would have so much more with online multiplayer, would have given Red Steel more life too.

Graphics are poor, and that isn’t important to me, but they should at least be noticeably better than gamecube…

There are not enough games that aren’t too kiddie or based on some crap movie, and I expected that the Wii would be aimed more at younger gamers, but the ratio is just ridiculous… Manhunt 2… Need I say more…

The only other game I want anytime in the future is Smash Bros. Brawl. But since I have already waited since release for this game, it just does not seem worth it anymore.

Now I’ve ranted this much, but I’ve still left things out, want to hear some opinions, but please refrain from being a deuche, like I said, it’s just my opinion.

Anyway I tend to agree with the OP but I am not going to be selling the Wii as I have no need to and I have a 360 anyway. I still want to see what Mario Kart is like anyway.

Sell it and move on. It seems that the problem is with your expectations. Outside of 'shiny'ness (high res graphics) I can't think of anything that will blow your mind on the PS3 or 360. I've played a lot of really good games on all of the current 3 but no matter how much greener the grass may seem, there is no 'real' innovation over there either.

If you want something new; the Wii is most likely to be the home for it (or maybe the DS). Perhaps you need to look inside for what you really need before you search outside.

I use gaming as a distraction. For me it's a hobby/pass-time; for others it's a way of life.

One of the problems people encounter when games become a focal point in their life, is that they do not have control. While you can choose the game that you play, you are limited to acting out someone else's ideas. This may leave some people feeling frustrated and unfulfilled.

Gaming sounds like it is important to you, so I hope you find the fun that you're looking for. I'd also recommend trying something new, outside of the digital world. Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

I've had a snes, then n64, then gamecube, then wii... but enough is enough, I'm not sticking with nintendo any longer. Anyway, I don't want to start a flame war with nintendo fans or whatever.

All I can say is that buying the 360 was the best thing I've done. I LOVE the games, I cannot believe I stuck with nintendo this long when the other consoles have so many great games. I've been playing mass effect and it blows anything game on wii out of the water.

P.S. Wii's are in pretty high demand at the moment, and they sell for quite a bit on ebay. So I'd suggest sell it on ebay, I'm doing it.
