Final Fantasy: My Life As A King - 7/10
Being the young king of your city, you have got a lot of work to do.
Final Fantasy: My Life As A King is a different approach compared to any of the other Final Fantasy games. the biggest difference is a painful one, there is no direct fighting or battling. Instead you have to send your subjects to do all your outside-of-city work. This may seem to be a big disappointer, as many people love the fighting style of the other Final Fantasy games, but it makes up for it in many ways. This includes
Architek
-
Architek is an ancient magic, which utilizes an element, named elementite.
You will need to build houses, training centers, shops & weapon stores in order to keep your subjects happy.
Upgrades
-
You can purchase many upgrades for your city via nintendo points, although there are only a few which really change the gameplay. In my opinion, they could've included some of these with the game, instead of trying to get every dollar out of you.
Visuals
-
The in-game graphics are spectacular. They make do with what the wii has got, and they do a good job of it. When night comes, you can see the moon rise, and the sun set, which i might add, they make look good as well. The main point of graphics in this game comes from Architek, when you stand on the glowing ground, just shake the wii remote to call chime, who appears with a flash, then select a building and watch the magic of Architek work before your eyes. It's a thing of beauty
Ratings
Graphics- 8/10
Controls - 9/10 (insanely easy to use and get used to)
Gameplay - 6/10 (after a while it can get repetitive, it is only at the start, and at the end that the game really shines)
Overall 7/10
Mostly good, it is just the repetitiveness of the middle of the game that can get annoying.
