Made for all you Mywii members to enjoy, By Wiidude007!
Oh man im as fat as a hippopotamus and I need to run in my school carnival tomorrow, what the hell do I do? What's this? Wii fit? What the hell is that? Wii fit is a Wii game made by Nintendo. It is designed to get people fit, well not really. The creator, Shigeru Miyamoto said that this game is designed to make you aware of your fitness, NOT TO MAKE YOU FIT! Well what is up with the title? Anyway it was going to be named Wii Health Pack but im glad they changed it. Anyway enough of the history lets talk about the game.
Ok so Wii fit comes a Wii balance board. You use this thoughout the game. This is a rectanged board like scales that you stand on when you play the game. They only come in one colour, white. This is a really great feature for the game and nintendo are making games that you can play with the board so you are not spending $150 and wasting it on this game. The game is simple. Play games and it is ment to make you fit, but does it? NO! Ok lets get more into detail. You start off by choosing your Mii player you want to be because you use it for all the games. You need to start off doing a body test. This includes giving your birthday and hight. It showes you your center of gravity and your weight. Your weight can be in 4 different areas. Underweight, Ideal, Overweight and Obese. This can be great fun watching your Mii put on fat and it crying about it but there is one thing wrong. Doesn't mussle weigh more than fat? YES but does the board track to see if it is fat or mussle? NO! So even if you are a really mussley guy with no fat and you go on there you will probely land in the obese area! Now all your friends are going to go on about how everyone thought you were fit but now you are an obese person. Not good nintendo! It also includes a small crap game to test your fitness. It's this game where you need to ballance your weight on each leg depending on where it says but how does that make you fit? Wouldnt fatter people be better than that because they have more fat to balance? C'mon nintendo. So overall the body test is not that great. They say you should take it every day but it takes around 10 mins to do! Who wants to do that everyday?
To guide you around wii fit is the Wii ballance board. Yes thats right, the board. He wakes up at the start and says hi and all this random stuff. Its really funny at times but sometimes he can be a real pain going " Omg where have you been for the past week?" Um i have been doing other things like taking a walk and getting fit! Man If you spend one day off this it will say where have you been! Not cool but the Wii fit board is. When you have done all that crap it comes up with your menu. Here there is a massive calander with all the days of the month. If you have done the Wii fit test then you can stamp the date saying that you have done it for today and thats cool. Down the bottom it has two icons, one for the wii fit test and the other for the games. when you press tp play the games it comes up with a thing saying what trainer you want. A boy or a girl. When you do that the wii fit board says some more crap and then you can play some games! Yay! Now they have four different game type, Yoga, Mussle workout, balance games and aerobic execises. They each have games to play, some there to play from the start and some you need to unlock. There are 40 games in total. Wow thats going to last a long time.... But to tell you the truth the games are quite fun, not the yoga for mussle workouts but the other two. Some of the games are a hula hoop one where you need to keep spinning around like you are really doing it. To tell you the truth that does make you have a bit of a sweat after. There is this dancing one that i enjoy and this running on where you hold the wii remote and run. Wait i need to hold it and i run so if i just shake it like im running does my Mii player run? Yes! You can cheat on this game. You could be eating KFC sitting on the couch and just shaking it and win 4 stars and you did nothing. How bull! Why can't we use the Wii board nintendo? It cost me alot. I will get into the games more later. So the games are ok but not the best. You get really board of the after afew goes.
Ok so i think i have said enough of the bad stuff for now. There are lots of good things in this game, just not in the right places. The graphic for this game are not as good as i thought. They are ok for this type of game but there like Ps1 graphis at some times! Some parts like the banners are nice and shiney but some of the games graphics really suck! Im sorry to say it but it's true. The trainers for instance, there white with not facal features at all! C'mon you can do better than that, there training you for god sake, they should look good. I mean the girl trainer doesnt even look sexy! Some of the games have like 2 colours in them. There is one where you have to step on a tiperope and try and not fall of. The game is fun but the graphics are poor. They could at least put abit more effort into it. I payed $150 for god sake. Woops im ment to be talking about the good stuff but all i can think about is the bad. There is more good things. One is the Mii, they looked more inproved then the last games where you can use your Miis. There is also a soccer game were you balance your weight and you try and hit the balls. That game has so sweet graphics! The yoga and mussle workout places where you do it really, im sorry to say, suck! They just got this mirror at the back to you can see the trainers white back and the floor is white with blue or green stripes. The walls are gray. Boring! I guess all this is just how nintendo make there games, they dont really care about the graphics. Only the gameplay. I guess the Wii couldn't suport that anyway.
Now I guess i should talk more about the Wii balance board. This is the main thing about the game. This was just the game to come with it like the zapper or the wii remote like Wii play. It really is cool. I really want to know what it is made of though because it is quite cheap for something like this. If it breaks then i will know. Anyway back on topic. Since the board is cheap it can only have a person under the weight of 150kg. So for the people that are fat and want to see about there weight they can't even do it? So only the ones that are fit can play? What is going on with that nintendo? Since for the controls for the Wii balance board is just like you get on and thats it i guess i will just list the controls for the Wii remote on the menu. The control pad, select item, scroll, adjust camera. A button, display next message, confirm. + button, Change mode. - button change mode aswell and the B button, back and cancel. So they are the controls. They are really easy so you will not need to look in the manual to find out how to play like you had to with SSBB! So the controls for this game is like the biggest thing. It has the Wii Fit board and easy to use controls. The only problem is with the board you always need to stand on it even if you dont want to and if you want it to load you need to stand on it! You can't even stay off it for a break while it loads! With the Wii remote it's annoying because you need to hold it while you play. You can't even relax and not have it in your hands. Overall great contols.
Yay go techno. I love listning to my I-pod while doing exersise. But wait.... Wii fit has music, well what is it like? will i get me jogging on the spot looking forward to doing exersise? NO. The music is that annoying Mii style music. All the ding ding and bang bang and all that. Some music is great like luckly i like the music for the music game where you need to step on and onto the Wii balance board to what it says on the screen, like those japanese dance games. The sound effects are ok but could be better. They sute the Mii game i guess but i was expecting more from this game. There is like this warm up music at the start where the Wii fit board talks and that is quite fun. Oh i almost forgot. You can also like Mario Kart wii download a Wii fit channel that can go on your Wii menu. Here you can see how you are going and stuff without the wii. Nothing specel really just another thing to take up your Wii memory! So Overall stick to listning to your faveoute songs on your I-pod. They will make you want to do more, these will not!
Summary
Wii fit is an ok game for the people that want to learn about keeping fit. The bad thing is it doesnt really keep you fit at all! One of the only reasons why i got it was because of the Wii Fit board. But I think more of the older people will enjoy this more. Why dont you just grap a ball and get out and get fit for free. You dont need to pay a thing at you really do get fit. Sorry Nintendo but i was expecting more from you for this game.
Gameplay - 7.0
The gameplay is quite good for this game since you have the Wii fit board. The games will keep you going at them for a while but then you will just get tired of them and ask for more but the games are great when you first pick it up and the idea is great!
Graphics - 6.5
The graphics for this game are not as good as i expected. I thought they could of make nice enviroments to sute what you were doing. There great in some places but this is something to work on.
Controls - 9.5
This is the best part of the game. It comes with the Wii Balance board and that makes it great fun. Good on ya nintendo!
Sound - 6.5
The sound is great in places but stick to your I-pod when doing some sort of exercise.
Replay - 7.0
The Replay is great at first but then it slowly dies down after a while. You will be screaming for more!
Overall
So overall Wii fit is just a game, Not an exercise game. Just grab a ball and get outside. Will be much better than this!
