News \ Wii Fit US Reception Uncertain but DS Connectivity a Possibility

Nintendo is doing all it can to promote Wii Fit in the US as it prepares to release the game to Americans on May 19. Nintendo Mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto has been out in full force showing gamers how it’s done himself by pulling out some yoga moves as part of the promotion for Nintendo’s game that’s good for you.

Miyamoto has been impressed seeing the title sell over 2 million copies in Japan but is uncertain if it will see the same level of success in the US. He says that it is hard to predict due to the cultural and lifestyle differences between the US and Japan. As American families generally spend less time together what type of role the game will play may vary.

Miyamoto also suggested the idea of Wii Fit interacting with the Nintendo DS while he was showing off his sweet Wii Fit moves. He said he ‘flirted’ with the idea of DS and Wii connectivity with Wii Fit and has left the door open for that in the future.

When asked what the creative mind of Miyamoto would be working on next he confirmed he was working on the Wii some more, but recently had his burning desire to create another Pikmin game rekindled.

I loved pikmin. Though I somewhat regret it. I was going to get a xbox or gamecube at the time, but I got gamecube because I wanted pikmin, if it wasnt for that game I would have gotten an xbox ... and now I wish I did have because the gamecube seriously went down hill.

Still I love the game pikmin, didn't get to play number 2.

if they remake Pikmin, give it some good music. all the music in brawl is amazing, then the pikmin music sucks.

Australia + Japan + UK = More than America anyway

We know its sold out in UK already, and has done extremly well in Japan. It should go fairly well in Australia as well. We know that at least a few thousand people in America at least will get it. Who knows, I heard that people are using it in Gyms and stuff for fun, they may buy them for the same reason over there. It would probebly be recommended to overweight people as it is in other areas of the world. Wii Fit will do well, don't worry.

I'm sorry to say this but most (Not all) American's usually don't like games that interacts with them by having them to get up and do something... most like just to kill and shoot (Halo an example) so this is why im guessing Miyamotto is a bit worried about the sale of it in the US.... the other fact is that the Xbox 360 is the main console being bought and supported over there @ the moment...
