Super Mario Galaxy - 9/10
The short, Italian plumber is back and better than before as Mario stars in a fierce, thrilling, exciting game which is *Super Mario Galaxy*. `Will Mario blast through our galaxy and revolutionize our gaming experience like with have never experience yet in this galaxy?
Bowser has struck an attack on the Mushroom Kingdom during a highly celebrated festival. As he strives towards kidnapping Princess Peach he destroys the Mushroom Kingdom and gets away with Princess Peach. It is now all in Mario's hands to blast through, explore and fight through many galaxy's splatter out all over the universe.
As Mario, you will explore some 40 plus highly different galaxies, each of these contained in a world with as many as six or seven challenges all resulting in stars. You spin through star slings, glide across chasms, speed into space, jump to platforms, walk atop and underneath pillars, fight fierce bossing and explore different gravities.
The game offers co-operative gameplay motion which allows two people to go through all the galaxy's together. First player controls Mario as normal as does all the normal things. The Second Player acts as a somewhat type of guardian. They can pick up Star Chips using there wiimote and use them to help the First player by shooting enemies or just help collecting Star Chips for further unlockables through-out the game.
I found the graphics quite impressive. Coming from a Playstation 3 background i was expecting the graphics to be bad, but i was stunned, they looked quite amazing. as the last Mario game i owned was Super Mario 64. The characters were made traditional and nothing was taken away from the game.
The controls on Super Mario Galaxy stunning, they were simply which allowed you to easily control and understand what was going on and also showed the Nintendo Wii's capability with motion sensoring. As this was my first game on the Nintendo Wii, it gave me a fantastic introduction on how to use and control the wiimote and num-chuck.
Overall Super Mario Galaxy was a thrilling, exciting and overwhelming game to play and experience on the Nintendo Wii. Featuring amazing graphics, great story line and out of this world gameplay Super Mario Galaxy really shows what the Nintendo Wii is capable of. So if you are yet to have a copy of Super Mario Galaxy, i dont know why your still reading this review, go now run down to your local gaming store and pick up a copy and enjoy the new and improved, revolutionize Mario at his best.
