Twilight Princess Review - 9/10
With the twilight princess out, it’s more than likely it’s got new fans and has brought back some old ones (after Wind Waker). Twilight Princess reminds many people of Ocarina of Time but with an even darker look than before. Fans started drooling for Twilight Princess and it was a hit before it even released!
When an evil guy named Zant (don’t worry Ganon’s still in it) spreads a dark shadow named ‘twilight’ all over Hyrule you can expect Link to save everybody. Link actually starts off in the small town of Ordon as a ranch hand. No tutorial. Just straight into riding your horse to get all the goats in the barn. This way you get in the action straight away. Link’s friends get kidnapped by a…fat…..goblin…. And Link tries to follow them but when he enters the twilight…*drum roll* He turns into a WOLF! I’m sure you already knew that(it’s been out for seven months). This gameplay change is great variety other than swinging swords and climbing up things. As a wolf link can’t open doors, use weapons or items, climb, or talk to humans. But he’s senses have improved and can dig…. That’s not a lot of things to do but it only adds to the gameplay. You always need to figure out a way to do something you could do when you’re human. When you enter the Twilight you meet a shadow imp by the name of Midna. She helps you with reaching places you couldn’t originally get to and supplying you with information, but in return you must do errands for her. Her only intentions are to save her world (the twilight realm) from it’s evil ruler, Zant. The controls for TP involve some swinging of the Wii remote, but just for slashing with your sword and biting. Even so feel very natural and have great sensation in them! TP is very long. You’d expect it from a Zelda game but this has a lot of stuff. It has 9 dungeons, heaps of side quests and great cinema. The characters express their feelings in a way words can’t. Through body language. The character’s facial expressions tell it all.
I must admit TP is my first Zelda game (I’ve played Ocarina, Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker) but it doesn’t mean I don’t know how a Zelda game should be like. TP is the Zelda game every Zelda fan would like NO MATTER WHAT. Many people consider Ocarina of Time to be the best (Zelda) game ever made but I think this game proves them wrong.
