My Wii-Sports Review - 9/10
Wii-Sports includes 5 games that teach people how to use the Wii Remote.
The games are: Tennis, Baseball, Bowling (10 pin), golf and Boxing.
Here's what I think about each of the sports:
Tennis - 7/10: A really fun game but it lack the propper scoring system, and there should be an option to do singles.
Baseball - 9.7/10: Now this is what I call a good game! I like everything BUT it is extremely hard to guess what kind of ball the pitcher is throwing and it is really hard to time you swing correctly.
Bowling - 9.8/10: I think this is the second best game in Wii-sports. It recognizes even the tinies movement of the ball, which is good, but what anoys me is that most of the times, when I the ball comes close to the pins it suddenly changes direction! It's a bit annoying but after time I got used to it athe ds a im favour!
Golf - 8/10: Golf isn't really my type of game, though I did find it pretty fun the first few times I played it, but after that it got booring. The most annoying thig in gof is while puting. Whenever youtry hit t ut a little bit the Wii doesn't think that you are swining at all. and when try a litle bit arder it al ver sudden goes too far!
Boxing - 9.9/10 THE BEST GAME IN Wii Sports! (at least that's what I think) The sound, the audience EVERYTHING IS GREAT exept for one thing, how the Wii recognizes my movements. It recognizes most of them but the ones like the hooks and uppercuts it doesn't really recognize, otherwise GREAT GAME!!!
The Menu Once you get into the Main menu of Wii-Sports you will see 7 buttons. 5 with the names of each sport, and 2 other buttons: Training & Wii-Fitness
Training:
When you first enter the traning section you will only be able to do 5 activities. As you comple each activity, a new one will appear under it. There are 15 Different activities in total, 3 for each sport. In each training activity you can earn four differen medals (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) depending on your score. Training can be done with more than one player (up to 4). In multiplayer mode players will take turns to see who can get the highest score in a particular activity. Once you earn a medal, a message will be posted onto the Wii message board. You can still earn Medals when 2 or more people are playing.
List of training activities for each sport and the objective of each activity:
Tennins:
Returning Balls: In this activity, your trainer Serves a ball and you have to try and hit it back to her. The game ends when: you did not return the ball properly. (it went out on the other side of the court, it bounced twice on your side of the court or it sayed on your side of the court becasue you hit the net).
Timing Your Swing: In this activity your trainer serves a ball and you have to try and hit it in the orange bar. The game ends when you don't return the ball in the orange bar.
Target Practice: In this activity a target appear on a brick wall an you have to try and hit that target, when you hit a target it breaks, and another one appears. if you hit the brick wall too much, you can create an opening, DO NOT HIT THE BALL THROUGHT THE OPENING! The game ends when you hit the ball onto the other half of the court, or when the ball bounces twice before youcan hit it.
Baseball:
Hitting Home Runs: In this activity the pitcher will serve 10 ball, and you have to try and get a "HOME RUN" or an "OUT OF THE PARK". An out of the park is better then a home run so try and hit as many of them as you can.
Swing Controll: In This activity the field is divided into 3 coloured sections (white, light-blue and dark-blue). The pitcher will serve 10 balls. You have to try and hit it into on of the 3 coloured zones to get a point (white gives ou the least points, light-blue a bit more and darkblue is the best.)
Batting Practice: The picher will serve 30 balls, gradually inreasing the speed and seving different kinds of balls. You have to hit as many as you can, please note that foulballs or strikes will not score you points.
Bowling
Picking Up Spares: In this activity all you have to do is knock down the remaining pins on the alley. You start off 5 balls, if don't manage to knock all the pins down on a particular alley you will lose a ball. When you run out of all of the 5 ball the game will end.
Power Throws: In this activity there are 10 sets of pins, on the firs one ther is 10 pins, the socond 15, the third 21, and so on all the way up to 91 PINS!!!! You have to knock down as many pins as you can, stikes double you score. eg: Say you got a strike on the 5 lane, instead of getting 46 you would get 92! if you can't get a 91 pin strike try the following video may be able to help you:
Spin Controll: Avoid the barriers and knock down the pins, that's all you have to do here! You start off 5 balls, if don't manage to knock all the pins down on a particular alley you will lose a ball. When you run out of all of the 5 ball the game will end.
Golf
Putting: Hit the ball in the hole from a short ditance, that's all there is to this training session. Oh there one chatch, You start off 5 balls, if don't manage to get the ball into the hole you will lose a ball. When you run out of all of the 5 ball the game will end.
Hitting The Green: There are 10 sections i nthis activity. In each one all you hvae to do is hit the green from a certain distane. you get bonus points if you actually hit the ball in the hole.
Target Practice: In this activity There are 2 sets of targets, one is in the lake and is closer, but if you hit the ball there you will score less points, so I suggest you go for the far away one. You have 10 shots, you have to try and hit the ball to one of the targets in those 10 shots, ALWAYS CHECK THE WIND DIRECTION BEFORE SHOOTING, it can really screw up all your plans.
Boxing
Working the bag: Here you have 1 minute to knock as many bags of their chains as you can. try doing fast punches and different combinations.
Dodging: You Have 1 minute to dodge as many balls as you can. Simply move the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to a side when your trainer throws the ball/s at you, if youget hit by the ball a point is subtracted from your total score, SO DON"T GET HIT!!!!
Throwing punches: Your trainer wil hold up either his rightm, left or both mits, and you have to hit them without hitting your trainer. You have 1 minute to hit his mits as many times as you can, DON"T hit the trainer or else points will subtracted from your final score!
Wii-Fitness: In this section you can use your mii to determine your finess age. The best fitness age you can get is 20 and the wors is 80. A Mii can only do 1 fitness test per day. A fitness test consists of 3 random traning ativities. When you start a fitness test a message might pop up saying that todays fitness test uses the nnchuk. This simply means that one or more of the traning activities will be boxing. When you finish a fitness test it will tell you what your fitness age is, and if you look on the bottom left corner you will see your individual statistics: Balance, Speed, and Stamina. After you finish a fitness test your results will be posted on the message board. Train every day to lower you fitness age!
Hope you liked my review, and have a good time playig Wii-sports!
