Some of us have long awaited Need For Speed Carbon in the past as we await Need For Speed Pro Street today, and yet, some people wonder why. The answer, because it's the best selling street racing game I've heard of!(I don't know if it really is the best though.)
Graphics:9.5/10
In my opinion, need for speed titles have always had top-notch graphics on its format. But when I played this game, I didn't expect 'em to nearly match the graphics of the 360 or PS3! The only things that made it look different were the framerate and in-game characters.
The surroundings in the game look great too!
The streets look just about equally sharp compared to the other versions.(360 and PS3)
The vinyls are sharp and smooth, even if you stretch and skew them a bit. See it for yourself!
Audio:8.5
The audio in this game is clear and loud, as expected, there is tire screeching, exhaust roaring, scraping against walls and more including radio communications of both your crew and the cops.
Randomisation of sound effects are effective in this game as well, especially in cops and crew speech. It's very rare (VERY) to hear someone say something twice in a row!
Unlike alot of games.
Gameplay Experience:9
Unless your console has a steering wheel, I can proberbly guarantee that the experience and fun of the Wii Carbon is better than the others, because motion controls are usually more fun for the player. Unless you hate that kinda stuff.
There isn't much to learn how to play in the learning curve of the game, the only thing that would proberbly be a problem would be getting the bearings of the tilting and twisting controls, the rest is pretty simple.
Also, I think the main reason that NFS is such a great game, is because of something new in each and every title to try out. For example, autosculpt in Carbon, thats a cool feature because it gives you even more variety then the last NFS. Or free roam in NFS Underground 2, tha was friggin' sweet! And even the cops, in NFS Most Wanted...
All of these great new features have carried onto the sequels.
Lastability:6
NFS Most Wanted lasted longer than this, the storyline is cool but short. If you play around 3 hours a day or something like that, this game would last about 2 weeks or something. But if you're a gamer that plays alot more than that, you'd be lucky if the story mode lasted you a week.
Replay Value:8.5
The story mode might be short, but replay value is also another important factor to a game, and need for speed has always had replay value in the 'Free Customisation' or 'My Cars' mode/section, and when you're done doing that, you can race 'em.
Overall Score:9.5
