Red Steel - Wii's Action Movie - 7/10
Story - Red Steel starts off in the city of Los Angeles, and focuses on a character named Scott. The story starts off with Scott going to dinner with his fiance, Miyu, and to meet with her father afterwards to propose marriage (to Miyu that is, not the father). When Miyu and Scott go to meet Isaso Sato, Miyu's father, Sato is attacked. From then on its a quest to keep alive, and save Miyu and co.
Graphics - The graphics of Red Steel are a nice start for a FPS launch title on an innovative console, with nice particle effects and lighting, to reflections on the floor and some neat looking weapons. My only gripe with graphics, would be the relatively low poly looking character models.
Gameplay - Red Steel's gameplay is a tad bit repetitive, but fun none the less. It consists of wielding a array of weapons for slaying armies of generic enemies, and at a point or two during a level, fighting with a sword. Although it is fun fighting with a sword, the only times you are able to use a sword is in these scripted scenes. The Controls take getting used to, but once you adjust to the control scheme, it is enjoyable, especially the tilting of the game. I'M GANGSTA YO
Sound - The sound is pretty much 'You Bastard!' after 'You Bastard!' and so forth, with gunshots and explosions in between. Some guns just don't sound right, whereas others sound brilliant. The clashing of the swords is just a brilliant sound, infact its so enjoyable to hear that I even mentioned it in this review. Sound is overall good, except for the lack of dialogue for enemy soldiers during fights.
Multiplayer - Multiplayer uses the same control scheme as singleplayer, with no additional changes. Sadly, the multiplayer only consists of 4 maps. Although it is fun if you play with the right people, it will get repetitive either way due to the lack of maps.
Skitz Note - The game is overall a good launch title, showcasing the motion sensor for a FPS, and it does that quite well. But it is slowed down by repetitive gameplay, and at times bad AI. Worth a buy if you enjoy FPS, and have time to learn the controls
Story - 8.1/10
Graphics - 7.7/10
Gameplay - 8.1/10
Sound - 6.8/10
Multiplayer - 6.6/10
Overall - 7.6
