Ultimately guys, I think the new version of the Wii OS/firmware is actually reading the lead-in and TOC of the Wiikey bootloader/bootstrap. In order for the dudes at Wiikey to get around it, I'll wager they'd need to change the way the disc image initialises and then loads the Wiikey config environment. To say this, isn't that hard. In practice? Not so sure. We'll wait and see. For time being, I guess the summary is this...
1. My wii still works.
2. All internet/Wiiconnect24 services still work
3. ALL games still work (even really new ones, such as Strikers Charged and Mario Party 8)
4. The wiikey bootloader disc DOES NOT work.
Hopefully those wiikey guys come through with the goods for us, eventually!
