Animal Crossing : Ds to Wii Transfer Announcement

Nintendo Australia has reported the following today on their website in regards to Animal crossing :

"December 17th, 2008 - Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii)

Updated Information Further to the initial announcement below regarding the issue with the ability to transfer data between Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii) and Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS), Nintendo Australia asks that any consumers who are experiencing this issue, please contact Nintendo Australia Consumer Support 1300 362 746.

We are not aware of any other issue with Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City, other than the ability to transfer data between Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii) and Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS).

Nintendo Australia apologises to our valued customers for any inconvenience this has caused."

At least a 2nd statement shows they are keen to get it working somehow. My bet is a new Animal Crossing transfer channel to be downloaded from the Wii online store for free. Can't be too hard to write some code which connects with the DS, grabs the data and interprets it for the PAL Wii game, then stores it on the system.

they need your wii serial number, and the model number on your wii animal crossing disc.

they replacing the discs!

I tried transferring my AC:WW too my animal crossing; lets go too the city, i put animal crossing WW in my ds slot turned it on and everything, and it says i have the wrong game card, im experiencing difficulties, if anyone can help me, it will be appreciated.

That is exactly what the problem is. It doesn't work. You need to call Nintendo and ask for a replacement disk.
