Depends, I just came back from a trip to Singapore. Most of the games sold there are actually NTSC even though the official region for the country is PAL.

So my answer is, most likely no.

Basically. I'm assuming your Wii is PAL & not modchipped.

I also purchased overseas games recently, not knowing the different configuration or codes. Is there any way to get them working? Like a modification?

Well if you get your Wii is chipped, you will be able to play import games. If you have the homebrew Channel and can get a hold of GeKko OS then you will be able to play most imports!

Depends Singapore sells all kinds of format games u gotta ask em or check the discs if they are PAL, NTSC or NTSC-J (which u will know, its in jap duhh lol) if PAL than yes u can play on the aussie wii.

I have SSBB NTSC, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, planning to get Tales of Graces jap, Tales of symphonia KoR NTSC and HEAPS of GC from Japan

i have so many bloody imported games

Toki thats cool. I too am not afraid of imports. I had roughly 20 import games for my Cube!
