Nintendo are reviving the classic NES title 'Punch Out' for the Wii!

The title will feature an all new two-player mode, and yes Little Mac will be able to square off against himself.

Nintendo also confirmed that Punch-Out for Wii will included 13 playable characters, 3 more than the original title. While in a caring and sharing mood they passed on some information about the game's control scheme. Players will have the option to play traditionally with the Wii Remote on it's side (NES style) or with the new motion controls.

"Punching is a simple case of taking a swing at your opponent whilst holding different combinations of buttons. Soften them up with jabs by pressing up on the Nunchuk Control Stick when you punch, or crash home a super-charged Star Punch by holding the C or A Buttons as you let your hands go," stated Nintendo.

Is it just boxing? Like Wii Sports boxing? Or is it different somehow..

Wii Punchout is a full game and from what i have read should be released mid 2009. punch out was just an out and out classic on the NES and there was never really a sequel made for some reason unbeknown to me.

VERY VERY much anticipated game, hopefully the creators are able to retain the charisma and the re-playability of the origonal!!

first of all its a full game with a disc and everything. second of all yes it is like wii sports boxing (or maby better!)

There was a sequel made Suer Punch out!!!
it was released in 1994 on the SNES
