Just got back after playing the Wii tonight and wow.

I know Serega posted his hands on with it, its just simply awesome. You really do forget about the graphics because you're just having so much fun playing, especially with two or more players.

Zelda really is the game to get. Best launch game. Ever.
The controls are awesome, swinging the remote like a sword, making stabbing motions with the nunchuk so Link barges enemys with his shield, and rotating it 360 to make Link swing his sword around. And the graphics are the best seen in a Legend of Zelda game ever. They had them running on Widescreen LCD tvs with component cable hookup and damn the graphics were sharp.

The aiming feels a little weird at first (in essence you really are aiming at the sensor bar) but once you get used to it it really feels natural.

Also found out some preliminary pricing for virtual console games (in Australian dollars)

NES games - $7.50
SNES/Megadrive games - $12
N64 games - $15

Prices may change though but it gives you an idea

Sega has licensed the use of its games for the Virtual Console. You won't see any Megadrive games at launch, but some of the titles you will see in the coming months include:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Altered Beast
Golden Axe
Columns
Gunstar Heroes
Ecco the Dolphin
Space Harrier II
Toe Jam & Earl
Ristar
Dr. Robotonik's Mean Bean Machine

Info is from IGN: au.wii.ign.com/

Plus we get Donkey Kong Country and the Americans don't

Played the Wii yesterday and the controlers were horrible to handle I couldnt control them. This would probably get easier over time, but the shock is there as its something weve never done before. Zelda was looking top notch however.

I know what you mean by the shock. Zelda wasn't the first game I played, I tried Rayman out first, and I had to use the Remote and Nunchuk as if I was beating a drum in order to get a mine cart moving so a rabbit could be flung the furtherest distance. I stuffed up because it was so weird handling the controls.

With Zelda, it took me about 7 tries of firing an arrow at an enemy before I got him. Once I got a grip of things I got them on the first go.

I've just read some great news. Apparently you can adjust the control in Zelda. There is an option that allows you to properly calibrate the aim of the remote at the screen so you can get the aiming dead-on. I think thats the reason why I had some troubles with the aim, because the demo hadn't been properly calibrated.

Gamecube controller is only about $20 on Ebay. Even better if you look around you should be able to find a Wavebird for not much more (better cause it's a wireless gamecube controller)

If you have any interest at all in playing Gamecube games on a Wii, you need a Gamecube controller, end of story.

I don't own a Gamecube anymore but I still held onto some games (like Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 4) so I could play them on my Wii, as they were my favourite games. So I'm going to have to buy a Gamecube controller because its been confirmed that the classic Wii controller won't work with Gamecube games, only Wii games that support it and VC games

You need it to play cube games.... a feature of the wii is the ability to play cube games.... this is factored into peoples desicion making when they decide to purchase or not.... that is for people who do think, others would buy a turd if it had a nintendo logo on it.

Pyro, if I were you I would hold onto one of your controllers. Not only for SSBB, but also if down the track you want to play some Gamecube games or use it for Virtual Console
