The pairing of rivals - 7/10
Back in the 16-bit era they were fierce rivals, now they finally star in the same game, but is it meant to be?
Graphics
The graphics are nothing special. Everything looks like it typically would in a Mario sports title, which means that they aren't bad, but they aren't that great either. 7/10
Nintendo's not really famous for its graphics anyway, that's ok.
Audio
The sound is alright, except for one thing. Re-using the characters voices. In certain events, like Rowing, the characters say the same thing over and over again. You may want to put the T.V on mute just to get them to be quiet. 5/10
I don't really like rowing, let's just leave it at that.
Gameplay
There is plenty to do when you first get the game. There are 24 events in the game (you only start off with 12 though). All of the events are like the real events in the real Olympic Games (with the exception of the 4 Dream Events). All of the events can be played by 8 characters from each franchise, as well as your Miis.
The usual faces you'd expect to see.
Single Match mode is basically where you practice events. You can earn medals by placing in the top 3 of that event. If your a completest (like me) your going to spend a while getting all the gold medals for all the characters in all the events, but I don't think many people will actually care about it.
Bowser's good at Hammer Throw...well actually, why do I need to tell you that?
Circuit is where you do a circuit of events and try to win by getting points. The better you place in an event the more points you get. You can accept the challenge in one event per circuit that will double the amount of points you get for that event if you place in the top 3, if you don't you don’t get any points for that round. This does make winning a bit too easy. When you win you get more circuits and events.
CPUs almost never get this close to beating you.
Mission mode gets you to do certain goals set for each character, like making sure you beat a certain character. Some of them just don't make sense however, like having to finishing in 2nd place rather that 1st. There are also emblems earned when you do certain achievements like beat a World Record or get a perfect 10 in Trampoline.
A perfect 10 is harder than you think...but it is easier than in real life.
The Gallery allows you to view bits of information about the Olympic games, but to actually see this information you have to complete a Mario/Sonic themed mini-game. These are, um......well......average....
You get to learn a little bit about Olympic Games......um....yay?
As you may have noticed this has wi-fi, does that mean you can go against other people from around the world in the events. Of coarse it doesn't. Basically all it is, is an online leaderboard of everyone's best records. Could've been better. Overall 8/10
Can you do this online? Nope. Why Not? I don't know
Controls
Well as you may expect this has lots of motion-sensing controls. The most common thing you will be doing it waving the Wii Remote and Nunchuck up and down frantically to run, which works alright. In fact almost all the controls work pretty good, but there's always and exception isn't there? In this case it's jumping, well jumping in long and triple jump. It's hard to find the right amount of force to jump far. Often I underpower the jump, trying not to overpower it. One thing I noticed was that to get a perfect amount of force, you have to start your jump right on the foul line, or in other words, the last possible second. Triple Jump is 3 times as annoying because you have to jump 3 times. 8/10
Getting 3 perfect jumps in a row, is just plain difficult.

Final Summary
Overall this is an alright game, if you enjoy Mario sports games than you will enjoy this and like all Mario sports games you will enjoy this more if you play this in multiplayer. Just because it has Sonic in it doesn't mean it is that much different from other Mario sports games. If your interested in this game, but aren't familiar with Mario sports I'd say rent first.
