The Resident's are Evil... - 8/10

Introduction

so it was my birthday and i had some spare cash to blow on a game, presumely under $50 because im a cheap basterd. and i knew this game was coming out a day before my birthday and i've always wanted a resident evil game, but never had a gamecube. so ive played this a bit, not much but i think its enough to get a good idea of the game since i have played some RE5 if that helps...

Gameplay

so you and your gun weilding mates are searching for some conrades of yours who have gone missing (i think) and all of a sudden your helicopter crashes and your in a dark and gloomy forrest of death. one of your search party members is attacked by a swarm of zombie dogs, you Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine run to the nearest spooky mansion. the character you pick (i picked Chris Redfield) spilt up from the main entrance hall to search for your missing conrade.

so yeah you go off into the room in the left and im like argh fark... im scarred easily and the opening door scenes are scarry enough to make you **** your pants. the camera angles make things quite awkward with controls but makes the scenary look so damn good. it actaully looks like a ps3 game on lowest setting graphics, which is actaully very beautiful for a wii game.


your first zombie pictured.. there^

im stuck with a knife and nothing else and ive en-contered my first zombie that has killed my missing conrade. so i press a button to ready my self to attack then press B to attach with some swishing action. what the hell the knife does nothing and now im on critical damage which i may add the health system is really awesome its a heart beat the flickers depending on your health satus.

so i limp away as im un-able to kill my first zombie. i run back to the hall where my conrades were, only to find they buggered off and left me a nice present. a pistol with about 10 bullets, AH-HA! i run back to my zombie only to find he is facing a wall and hasnt noticed me yet, i ready myself thinking the wii-remote would be the aimer so i can pop a headshot and save ammunition, but no. all i have is this crappy auto aim system and to be able to tilt 45 degrees upward or downwards. i was like what the fark after 5 shots were pop-capped into tat zombies @55.

so anyways after a bit of rage with controls, i calm myself down and just think about. i find its the suspence thats this games strong point every tie the camera angle changes it makes you alert and gets you pre-scarred. like;

"holy **** there is mirrors >.>"
"OMFG! oh wait thats my shadow..."
"where does this go? oh fark, in-house graveyard!"

for a first Resident Evil game this is awesome, although the shooting part is pretty messed up, the game has made me look a bit "messed up" im constantly think and working my way around a place of the un-known it just has this great feeling and that is what a good game is, the ablitity to change how you feel about a game is a good game.

Graphics

uber sexy, it makes every aspect of the game beautiful. and the scenary is just to awesome to be true. and they havent dumb down any movements, player interactions is smooth and looks cool as you hold your pistol ready to take on anything.

Sounds

awesome aswell, suspending and makes build up of scarry-ness that never leaves you alone! works awesome with the scenary and camera angles which really binds this game together to make its strongest point in the game.

In-conclusion

For previous RE fans im not sure what your expecting this to be good or not, but as a newbie to the RE series i like it and im sure when i pass this and get RE4 its just going to get better and better.
