I grabbed a Powerwave docking Station (Light Stand and charger bay for two wii-motes) thinking it looked the Goodz! Plus at $25, seemingly a total Sc0re!

To my annoyance though, It didn't meet my expectations and here are my reasons why:
1. The slots that you place the remotes in are so tight that the charging connections scratch your wiimotes.
2. You are required to wiggle the wiimote around in the slot in order for it to find the right charging position - Ghey!
3. It seems that if there is a slight variation in any atomospheric condition that the charging light switches off requiring a readjustment of the wiimote in it's slot - gheyness plus plus!
4. The batteries provided are AAA which fit into an appropriate battery adaptor. Maybe this is picky but the wii-motes are noticably lighter (I know i'm weird).

So I am taking it back to EB Today for a refund (if they allow it). Just thought I would give you guys a heads up on this docking station.

Not sure if this should be a new thread or not, but in regards to rechargable batteries. Does anyone have any idea what the best type is to get? Eg. 750 mAh or higher. I'm not a power expert but it seems that the Ni-Mh batteries with the higher mAh, power the higher powered devices (Digital Cameras, flashes etc) and thus don't seem to last very long in say cordless mouses, wiimotes etc.
Perhaps my understanding is completely wrong? Does anyone have any idea as to what mAh would be most appropriate for my wiimotes.

Yeah, i'm regretting getting this thing now, one of the batter adapters doesn't work unless i don't close it properly, which is kinda pointless coz i tend to squeeze the wimote at somestage which will close it which means ive gotta take time to open it up up slightly and if i'm playing mario strikers online it gets really annoying. The batteries still charge while in the wiimote, but it just wont work. What makes this even worse is the fact that i cant take it back to EB coz its after the 7 day thing.

Guys, get Sanyo Eneloops for your Wiimotes. They are awesome. They're a new type of low self-discharge 2000mAh NiMH rechargeables which retain 85% of their charge after 12 months of non-use (regular NiMH batteries lose practically all their charge after 12 months). Available at Dick Smith etc or www.amenterprises.com.au. Pretty affordable as well.

For $25 its the best docking station on the market and it comes as a unit that holds you Wii too

What a pain! Having to take off your straps before charging. The whole thing sounds a bit troublesome. I hope you can get your money back! Then go and invest in a Joytech one. I also highly recommend it, have had no problems with it at all!

I don't like having to check all the time that it's actually sitting right and recharging (I already have a logitech cordless mouse on my pc that gives me this headache). I also have to remove my skins...but having to remove the straps aswell I know lazy!

Ive got a seperate Nimh charger I think I will just grab myself a supply of batts and keep spares recharged and swap as need be.

Mario128! Yep that's exactly why I already had a seperate Nimh recharger...well I was using it to charge my cordless PS2 controllers.

The Wii has taken over that space for the moment. Though I still like to have my batteries at the ready for PS2 Formula 1 time trials, or Pro Evo soccer tournaments with mates. Beers and batteries at the ready in this case!
