I've been using rechargables since i've had mine, all good on my end. I fail to see how they'll "break" the remote

When i bought my wii i also bought a recharger + 4AA rechargable batteries pack, $25 or so it cost me, when i got 2nd remote i bought another set of 4 rechargables, 2 charged and 2 in use for each, that is to say when they get used

i lent my wii to a mate and he returned it with Lithium Energisers. since i got it back, i've been playing battle revolution, pangya golf and metroid prime a fair bit as well as mucking around doing other stuff, rumble on, speaker on full volume and it hasn't even dropped down 1 bar! It's amazing, although I fear i'll need a bulk recharger to get it back up.
Anyway, I couldn't recommend it higher.

Do not be afraid, I got my Wii on launch, and since then, both of my remotes have been working on ENERGIZER rechargeable ones, and they work fine.
