nah the hbc has nothing to do with the performance of the emulator - treat it just like a menu system to load other apps

snes9x runs well - mario kart and mario all stars get a thrashing in my household

Why is it that we can have either .dol files and .elf files, what's the difference? In other words, is either one better?

the homebrew channel is next - it consists of

boot.elf
readme.txt
and a directory called wiiload

run the TP hack and it will boot the installation program. follow the intructions (they are easy - press 1 a couple of times). then the wii will reboot - new channel on the menu.

take out the sd card and delete all files on SD card. create a new directory called apps and start putting all apps in that directory.

umm.... have you extracted the file? you should have those 2 files and another folder as i explained

those are the things that are first up in the folder. and i looked in them and i didnt find wiiload.

edit: i looked at ur image and my boot.elf and readme files are smaller than yours. does that mean i have downloaded the wrong homebrew channel kit?

don't chicken out that is worse - it goes through a load screen where the text scolls then it comes up on the screen - no longer than 15 secs. if it freezes reboot the wii and put the file back on the sd card - it should work though
