Having a tiny dilemma if anyone would be able to offer some assistance.

Trying to install Quake Wii, I've gotten as fas as having the actual icon appear inside my Homebrew Channel screen, then I click on the game, it begins to load, asks me to sync the WiiMote + 'chuck, and then gets to a point asking if my /ID1/PAK0.PAK file is in the correct directory.

Currently I've got it in
f:/~~~~~/apps/quake/

Inside this folder is also the icon, the boot.elf file and a folder "/ID1/PAK0.PAK"

What am I doing wrong?! >.<

try change the file name to pak1.pak

This is the Shareware version of quake, if you have the real game put PAk1.PAK in the "ID1 folder.
Must use Gamecube Controler.

That is from the forum on the wiibrew link. it say pak1.pak for full version, perhaps its looking for pak1 rather then pak0

Still failed with it named PAK1.PAK.

On the Wii, it comes up with an error saying
"/ID1/PAK0.PAK" was not found. I figured I'd try putting the folder in the root directory but still nothing worked.

Eh.

EDIT:

After many more hours of toying around with this game, I *finally* got it to run! Although in-game, it insists on spinning rapidly; I'll work that out later.

Thanks to all for help =)

i see you have it working but for those who have the same issue - make sure the files are in upper case and that they are place in the root path and not apps eg: /ID1/PAK0.PAK not /apps/quake/ID1/PAK0.PAK

quake is hard coded to look for that directory. the elf file etc.. stil go in the apps directory but it is just the PAK0.PAK file you need to move around

Hey boys and girls. I got the homebrew channel and everything working, but at the moment, I don't see any point. The best thing so far is regionfree loader. Do you think in the future we will be able to play 'backed up' games?

The point of homebrew is emulation, media players and some other exploits that the developers don't utalize. If a good divx player was written then it could replace my xbox. I doubt that this will happen any time soon though. I am also hoping for USB hard drive support so you can play your games off a HD instead of off DVD all the time. little things that see the full potential realised.

i use wad manager now instead of installer/uninstaller - it combines both into one package and has full wiimote funtion. also for those who don't know, the apps need to be in their own dir in the /apps directory and they need to be named boot.elf or boot.dol (depending on the file)

It can be used to install/uninstall WiiWare and VC games, make sure you already own these games so it isn't illegal.
