CC seems to be the most comfurtable out of the choices of controls for the game. I tried controller + Nunchuck but its not my thing.

Wii wheel is actually quite fun after you get some practice in but i say CC if you wanna win some games.

Seriously though, i'll see how it goes with the Wii Wheel, i've done the wiimote/nunchuk thing on MX vs ATV for wii and it's alright, though it's really game dependant as the sideways position and tilting left and right works well with Excite truck and need for speed Pro street (well IMO at least) so MKWii may be the same but i'll give it a shot without the wheel first and also try the classic controller.

Will be picking it up tuesday and i'll give a definite answer then

The Wii Wheel works just fine, It just takes a little more practice to nail those motion controls every time as opposed to analogue sticks and buttons which we are all very used to.
People I know who have never played Mario Kart before have played on my wii and they pick it up quicker with the wheel as opposed to a controller.
I personally like the Wii Wheel, I may not have mastered it, But I find it more rewarding

That isn't unbalanced, that is the wacky awesomeness of the game. If that same person could use a cart that was twice as fast with twice the acceleration of any other Kart, that would be unbalanced. The game is weighted to prevent big wins though, as an example, I have never received a speed boost item, or POW block, or lightning bolt, etc when I am coming first.

To stay on topic ... Wiimote, I liked the Wii wheel but there is less set up time associated with not putting the Wiimote in the wheel

I'm yet to try out the Wiimote/nunchuck combo but I will soon, and I'm really hoping I like that better than the Cube-con - basically just because of the fact that I have to drag my Wii down from the TV cabinet onto the floor in front of me so that the cord reaches it's a pain!
