News \ E3 '08: Nintendo Unveils Wii MotionPlus add-on

Alright, time to stop coming up with excuses that your Wii remote didn't go where you wanted it to go because Nintendo has got something installed for you.

Introducing, one of the first surprises Nintendo has unveiled for E3 is the 'MotionPlus' add-on to your Wiimote, making the peripheral a true 1:1 motion controller.

This add-on promises a 1:1 movement tracking and more accurate location sensing in 3D space. The Wii MotionPlus plugs straight into the accessory port of the Wii Remote and uses the accelerometer and the sensor bar to make the tracking possible.

Could this add-on bring out new games with more accurate use of the motion in the controller. Maybe a sword fighting game? or even a music game with more accurate baton-waving? Who knows...we will just have to wait till E3.

Nintendo will provide more information on this beauty when E3 officially launches.

although how are you meant to plug it into the zapper with that extra part plugged in the bottom... aww there goes my RE fun.

it might be annoying taking off the jacket and the part and replacing it again each time you have to alternate between playing via pointing at the screen or holding it like a traditional control pad and being able to comfortably press the 1 and 2 buttons

There is a little spot down the bottom which is like a cover, so i assume you can still connect the nunchuck.

But I concern mroe things.What about its compatibility with the Wii-mote?which I mean can we use it comfortably when adding such a "plug" at the end of remote?Adding one plug means adding more weigh to the remot.I doubt if Kids will adapt to this new guys.

Finally,I think nintendo should carefully make a good price for this extra peripheral,because people will choose the old Wii-mote if they think the price is not acceptable.

hopefully Nintendo consider bundling it with some games if there's going to be games that require it to play.
