Nintendo has worked hard to sell it's console offering many games and suburb controls it seems the giant was successful selling 714,000 Wiis last month: April which is usually quite a slow month the sales beat the sales of all Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and PSP. "It was surprising not to see bigger hardware sales for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 given the release of GTA IV," commented NPD analyst Anita Frazier. "However, since the game was only in the market for 5 days during this reporting period, that sales lift could very well be evident in May data." The report also shows lifetime sales of Wii have now reached more than 9.5 million according to NPD data, a mere 500,000 fewer than the Xbox 360 which launched a year earlier.
