Was research by customer service, who got info from home entertainment. She said she couldn't send me an electronic copy, due to reprint reasons but read them out over the phone.

This, my frriend, was a simple case of marketing. One that never really took, in my opinion

Good call twisted.... i went into EB games and told them about the myer one deal. They said "oh yeah you gotta be a myer one customer for that"

I then said ... "yeah but id much rather be an EB customer" and they price matched it.

Ive now got two pre orders in case i dont get one hahhahaha. Thats ok ill cancel the other on the day and someone who didnt pre order will be very happy with me

Twisted, I don't know...it just sounds too good to be true, and it defies logic, I mean I can understand them taking a cut somewhere, and making the money back somewhere else, but that voucher book means they essentially make less than nothing anywhere at all...unless the customer happens to walk out with a plasma TV at the same time. It really doesn't make any sense. Was this confirmed by multiple sources? Or just the one person at HQ?

Well you gotta be nice on the phone to get the right information. Yes I made multiple phone calls but I also stated that I had a lot of $$ to spend on that system and didn't wan't to take it elsewhere if I was going to get the best deal at Target........... we will see!!

ANywyas, basically they pulled the plug on the free MyerOne game 2 days it was due to end, and then they ahve tried to offer up a bs gift of "free" steering wheel witha game that comes with a "free" steering wheel regardless of what club you belong to.

Nah dont work for myer....im not promoting just helping my mates here work out the best deal for themselves...with all the RIGHT info. No guns no heads just layin it on the table

You dont like it dont buy it, but at least you can make a fully educated desicion.

All those who have been promised the deal will get it....its only fair that they close the offer inside 5 days of the pre release. Good luck

Its still on, u need to print out the flier and bring it into them. Go to the melb central store. HOwever i was last told due to release issues and stock that the free game wont be GT Pro anymore but instead will be monster truck 4v4 (which has better graphics).

You need to buy the games they say at the times they set. This would be good if it coincides with your wants and budgets at particular times but it looks a little tough to match up with them

Haha you've been fooled. EB say they're offering 10% off but they've also marked the games up by 9% first to $109. Why do that when you can get 20% off the actual price ($99) at myer and save yourself a hell of a lot more money. Idiots.

i went to put more money on my pre order at EB and they offered me a wii bundle exclusive to EB preorders. six mini games and an extra controller for $10(and the city store is advertising a wii bag, so that may be everywhere) i beleive this to be the wii play bundle (RRP $80)
also i think EB is not ripping people off, but are using the RRP for things like SMB

also EB is talking midnight collections if the individual stores have enough numbers

oh and as for numbers. they wat to make people pre order, so there will be limited numbers available on launch, although they may well boost numbers pre christmas because they can clean up the market

Just got back from EB RIP OFF MONGRELS and they have set some of their games for the wii at 109bux this is horrible and i hope people punnish them by cancelling their pre orders and going elsewhere.... these rats need to be sent a message saying that 109 for a video game.... ANY GAME ANY SYSTEM is unacceptable and wont be tollerated if we dont they will do it then do it again next thing all game titles will be 109 until they have the nerve to raise our prices to 115 and will know that you will pay anyway!

DONT LET THEM DO IT and KEEP THE BASTARDS HONEST!

I have had vouchers from Myer and Toys R Us before. They arent that gud and they hav a date on them. Ussually Toys R Us vouchers are still availiable after launch in there packs anyway. So if ya onli want it for Mario games, i would wait till the mario games come out, cause then ya might be able to get a deal. It is likely that the console wounldnt go down. But what is the point of buying it now if ya aint gonna play it at all???

You know if no one rushed out and pre ordered they'd be putting out some sweet deals right about now.... free zelda perhaps... i mean not only have you shafted yourself out of good deals.... but retailers are doing as they please canceling deals changing terms even telling lies... by flooding the market with demand so early you have affected supply.... simple economics my good friends enjoy the mess youve created.

Did they have a fight or something (or just get burned from the NGC)?

And of course, K-mart have the crappy bonus carry bag (Dammit, you want to play my Wii? YOU come to MY place!)

I think we need to put the behavior by the stores down as pro's and con's. I heard about the dude who was told by EB that Wii Sports was an exclusive tittle for EB customers. That is horrible EB should be punished for that one. Toy's R Us are putting deals and ideas out there but they dont know what theyre doing. Myer has been really chrystal clear about it all and havent had any hassles reported. I think the deals really are pretty close to each other so ill be rewarding my pre order and business to the best behaved which has to be Myer. This does include a free GT game not too shaby amongst the offers. BUT PEOPLE PLEASE do concider the behavior of these stores when making a final desicion .. That EB story is a shocker and highly unethical. But fear not the power is ours!

TRU Pre-order deal new info!!!

Just spoke to the lovely lady at TRU in highpoint and she was very clued into what TRU would be offering in their pre-order deal.

Basically, yes you get a free game. They do not know yet which game (they are waiting for info from Nintendo), and she said they could know which game 1 week before launch or even just 1 day before launch..its all up to Nintendo. She also said it could be a choice of 4 games to choose from.

Here is the new info: She said TRU would have 6 different Wii packages to choose from at varying prices with things thrown in like extra controllers, games, carry bag etc. She said if you pre-order now when you pick the console up at launch you can choose which package you would like.

She also said due to import restrictions if you dont pre-order your chances of getting a Wii at launch was buckleys.

They run on NTSC and we are PAL ... so even if you do manage to obtain one from the US, you wont be able to buy games in Australia.

Supposedly ... it'd make sense too. Why would they offer a game which everyone is going to buy regardless - they'd be losing money. Looks like they don't need to provide much of a deal anyway seeing the number of ppl who have chosen to preorder with them despite them not having the best deal.

When i preordered from Myer it (the preorder form) said that preorders stop 5 days before launch. I'm not sure about the other stores ... other ppl who have ordered from them can probably tell you.

Took the plunge today and preordered my wii from Myer. It's worth it because i'll get the GT Pro game because my mum is a myerone member and the vouchers will be handy coz i'll be buying extra controllers and more than just one game.
