I'm paying for lots of rubbish things, like prison beds and meals for serial rapists. May as well pay for something not-so-rubbish while I'm at it.

There's only a certain amount of dosh.... So basically what you are saying is that there are going to be less criminals.

The Lines that are being proposed i think, i cant quiet remember.

But it will be fast. ADSL will look like a dialup modem.

there are alot of options all are expensive.

I believe they want it to be on PAR with other first world countries in terms of speed. Trust me it will be fast the options available are Recent tech.

The cost is being picked up by tax payers, but it should come out of the budget surpluss's, its an investment into Australia's future. All walks of life will definately benefit from Big/small business, Home/Education institutions. So its a worthy investment.

Oh well most of the options they said will take a few years to implement. (they should have started this agez ago we are far behind, Governments only respond to problems, they dont pre-empt them)
About upwards of 3 years depending on what they implement.

I recon.. this is just a thought. we cut a little funding that Howard liked placing in the PRIVATE SCHOOLS put a little into PUBLIC SCHOOLS and then we probably won't have so many criminals.

I know a primary school in my local area that has had to use rubbish bin rims as basketball rings, A Private school semester fee for one student would buy them New rings/Backboards get their lines painted in and buy them new bins.

A little melodramatic don't you think?
Lets not forget that the country isn't in the hands of just one man...

Did howard have something to offer you?

The plan is for ADSL2+ speeds up to a 24,000kb connection for 98% of the population within 5 years. I've got a mate on that speed in Brisbane and he downloads at between 1.5mb and 2mb per second.

What the hell are you on about? What did John Howard do for you? What would Peter Costello do for you? What would the Libs do for you if they were in government? Frankly, the decisions made by the federal government hardly effects anyone below the age of 18, hance legal voting age being (suprise, suprise) eighteen!

But it is still a political thread. I think 1 thread on this topic of politics is enough for this website, especially when it is quite a touchy subject and is easily open to flamming. Admins have allowed this thread, just to give you a treat. Anymore threads that are started regarding politics, will be deleted.
