Could not wait to download this game and now that i have a few minor things are bugging me.
Does everyones copy have (so far) 2 glitches?
1. The picture is off to the right and its very blocky sometimes on the right of the screen?
and 2. cannot for the life of me get the second whistle in the first castle. there seems to be a wall stopping me.
Has anyone had these and more problems?

i haven't downloaded it. but do remember seeing that right side of screen graphics glitch you mention on a preview video. thought it was just that video snippet? guess not then.....

I don't have the VC version, but the ROM I downloaded for a PC NES emulator is also off a bit. And I would say that the picture is blocky due to the difference in resolution between PAL and NTSC, and also that the NES only supported like 320x240.

i have seen on aussienintendo.com that the 'block' glitch is in the original NES version ! i dont remember it. It also says because of the flat screen/LCD tvs of now days thats why its more pronounced.
Its still a great game and i guess i can live with the glitches(2 so far) but would have been nice to have it fixed before releasing it on VC.
Has anyone else had problems getting the second flute/warp whistle?

I can see odd glitches on the right and left sides of the screen during movement sometimes but it aint a big deal. My beef is i sometimes get slowdown, in specific parts of specific levels the game slows down considerably when there is lots going on, almost to a crawl, like Matrix stuff going on. Perhaps the Wii isn't as powerful as a NES? Lol! I've also found Paper Mario on VC doesn't run as smoothly as the N64 counterpart. Emulation is never perfect and Nintendo are probably working on better and smoother emulation software.

As for the whistles, no problems in the first stage. I got both of them quite easily.

The sound of the game seems a little odd. Mainly the music, I mean. Maybe it's because I've been use to the rom version of the game, which cleans the sound up. But I never remember the original NES version sounding so odd.

I've gotten all 3 whistles fine and the music is just like the original. Sounds fine to me

Ok, to start off with, please don't double post. You can click edit on your last post and add in those details there. Once you update it, the discussion/thread will be bumped up to the top of all discussions automatically.

And as for your SMB3 question, you could try deleting the save game file from your Wii. If that doesn't work, backup the channel to your SD card then delete the channel off the Wii. Try re-downloading it again from the Wii Shop Channel. I'm pretty sure it should let you. This should hopefully fix your problems.

In answer to my own question, i found out today that when a game is updated it appears with a Updated tag above it, even if you have downloaded it! You download the updated one for free which would happen anyway as you have already downloaded it once!
