Wii Hardware \ Massive Sensor Bar issues

Just put new batteries incase that was the matter in my wiimote, but its not, my sensor bar is messed up and is only flashing my hand now and then and is only appearing if i turn my wiirote upside down, and then it only rotates on an arc not anywhere on the screen.
Has anyone experienced these problems either?
I think because i've had my sensor bar sitting on top of my tv, the heat might have done something to it, its a plasma tv so it generates alot more heat than a normal tv
thoughts suggestions besides buying a new sensor bar would be great

I think I know what you mean, I experienced the same kind of problem also with my sensor bar, unplug it from the wii entirely and straighten out the cord, then plug it back in but try to get it to be straighter when you do so, then you should be back on track and playing your Wii in no time.

Well you should try and get to the menu no matter what and setting the settings. Try wiping the sensor bar and front of the Wiimote also.

see if you can see 6 white dots.. 3 on each side
and if u cant .. its still pretty cool but u have a problem

say there is an invisible dot on the screen and the wii mote pointer only rotates around it
it points to one point and just arcs around it, there is no free movement

Mine plays up really badly when the glass coffee table is half-way between me and the sensor bar because the infra-red bounces off the glass and the sensor bar trys to read the same wii-mote from 2 places (myself and my reflection). This causes the hand on the screen to flicker if i move it towards the bottom of the screen. I quickly learned that i should move the coffee table to play the Wii
