Social \ Help me decide - should I buy a PS3 - Locked

Well even though Im happy with the Wii, Ive been also thinking of buying a PS3 to go with the Wii. I almost got 1 today but decided to sleep on it a couple nights then decide. Is there anyone on mywii with a PS3 also & can tell me what they like about their PS3 besides the obvious like the games & blu-ray. Is the "Home" feature up & running, is there much in the way of downloadable demos etc, have you had any issues with your console. Basically im asking you guys if you think its worth $990 (now with extra conroller, Motostorm & Resistence - Fall of Man), also spoke to salesman & he said I could swap Resistence - Fall of Man for any game as I dont really want it. If we can, please avoid pointless replies like get a 360 instead (dont like MS) or PS3 sux etc as it will go unnoticed by me. Thanks

• Like the shop channel on the Wii, the PS3 has the PSN (Playstation Network) where you can download stuff like demos, videos, and add-on content to certain games
• Great Wi-fi
• Sony has created "Folding@home" where user can help see how to cure some diseses (don't much about that so try to look it up)

Well this is all the reasons i can think of for getting a PS3. Try logging into MyPS3 because the members there can help you a lot

oh and what i like about my PS3 is that it's shiny and sleek. I think it's sexy and that it's the greatest thing i've ever bought besides the Wii. What i truly love about the PS3 is because of it's online play. I can use a headset if i wanted to instead of just typing to them online. Also the awesome graphics of the games

I just hope that the new games this fall will be worth the wait

i always think that $990 for a PS3 is expensive, but it is a very cool piece of technology. Obviously you have the money to buy it, so that is not a problem. What you need to think about is - Do you like the PS3 games?

It's a games console, first and foremost. So if it delivers the greatest gaming experience of your life, then it's worth your money.

I was gonna log onto MyPS3 but thought there be a few users on here that may have both consoles & seeing as I know some of you, thought id ask. I has a PSP (plus 17 games & 12 movies) but thats on the market to partly fund the PS3 & some games so I wont be using it with the PS3. Money really isnt the issue anyway, I just was wondering if I should wait 6-12 months or just throw caution to the wind & go get one of these big boys.

• Most of the games on the PS3 can be obtained on a PC, while 360 or Wii games are exclusive.

If you really do want a great console, get a 360.

Lots and lots of games, great online service.

Don't get a PS3, not worth it.

You mean,

Zelda, Prime 3, Galaxy in a few months, Same with Brawl, Kart, Boogie is a great party game along with Mario Party 8, Super Paper Mario is excellent.

I could go on and list all the games I have and enjoy, but no.

The only reason I mentioned waiting was maybe for more games to be released, not for a price drop.
The only other reason for the second thoughts is the hassle I'll get from the GF , she thinks the Wii is all I need for now & would rather I get a big ass plasma tv, id rather get the plasma after ive got the ps3.

I know desi is in love with his PC games but im so over my PC , all it does is give me hassles (should of never got Vista , one the main problems). I spent a few years mainly only playing games on my PC & I got sick of upgrading it. Now my PC is strickly for downloading content , emails , web browsing etc , only play V8Supercars 3 on it online.

Heh, yeah. You're already plunking down $1000. May as well just add another few hundred to it and get a really high-end gaming computer.

I think there are more games on the PC that are deeper and more complex than their console counterparts. That's just me, of course.

Not to mention there are no games for the damn thing. Why not get a computer? Controls are there and you know and love 'em internet online play is unchanged and is still the best online experience, Graphics are the best and MODS which you can heavily get into.
