I also agree. Blowing $1000 on a PS3 is not worth it. If you are wanting to spend $1000, get yourself a high end PC. If you want next gen gaming, go for the Xbox 360, which is now available for about half the price!

Why would you want to spend $1k for a PS3 where u can spend that amount of cash wisely on many other things.

The no HMDI cable for PS3 really puts a dent i recon.

U'd at least wanna have the best resolution for a console that u paid $1000 dollars for and for this high priced console they couldn't even come up with a good cable lol.

Thats Sony for ya they seem to forget about the simplest things

This person is wise, get a 360 instead, PS3's exclusive games thus far have flopped pretty badly (Heavenly sword and Lair to name a few) and correction, Assassin's Creed will be making it's way to the 360, this was confirmed a while ago.

If you want great games, 360 is the go, if you want the potential for great games (hoping that these companies don't mess up their so called "killer-apps") then go with the ps3.

Right now, Playstation 3 is simply all talk and no action.
Unless your not willing to wait, I'd hold off buying another console till I see if the PS3 can live up to it's hype.

Actually, yeah. It's the peripherals, man. eDimensional makes glasses for the PC that turn a flat image on your screen into a 3D image, still in the same full colour. Instead of looking for a visual hint of where to start turning at a corner, you can see the corner coming up. Instead of guessing where to drop a bomb, you can properly judge the speed and direction of your plane.

That kind of thing. There's a lot of awesome PC peripherals.

I want. Did you notice a lot of flicker? I'll bet the refresh rate needs to be huge for it to be comfortable for day-long gaming.

I can get one, but I don't think I will until my hardware is a bit more powerful. There's a processing hit involved with those glasses.

I think the first question that needs to be asked when wanting to get a PS3 is, why? For games? For online services?

IM GETTING a PS3 , I think its settled.
