Alright, prepare yourselves...

A circular cylinder, open at one end, is constructed from metal whose area is 432pi cm^2. The cyclinder has height of h cm and radius r cm.

a. Find the volume V cm^3 of the cylinder:
ii. in terms of r

:)

There's more questions after, but I just want to do this one for now.

oo i got one:

if i have a beaker with 1 particle in it, and every minute that particle doubles, to 2, to 4, to 8 etc

it starts at 9am, and by 9pm to beaker was full

what time was it half full?

sorry if you already heard this or i've said it, but it's a easier one

How do you know when it's half full when you don't know the capacity of the beaker? :/

Or don't you need to? ARGHHH! Stop distracting me with these funkey problems.

And bennyr, the volume of a cylinder is (pi)r^2h, where (pi) is 3.14..., r is radius and h is height. I just don't know how to express it with only r... =/

I can't seem to find any relationship between r and h, so it's confusing.

The relationship between r and h is that 432pi is the area of the object. Mentally picture the cylinder being folded out. you get a rectangle and a circle, yes? The rectangle is made up of h x 2pi.r and the circle is pi.r^2.

Anyway, i think the answer is V = pi/2 x (432 - r^2)
