You can swear, hang up, or abuse them but remember - they have your phone number. Most telemarketers put your number back in the queue when you are rude and you keep getting annoyed.

Be polite but firm. Or tell them you are in a contract.

I was running out of things to say and it was clear there was no way to hang up politely by how serious she was, so I faked static...

Me: Hey can you hear static?
Lady: What? No.
Me: What was that again? I can't hear you!
Lady: Yes sir im hear:
Me: WHAT! I CAN"T HEAR YOU! IT'S ALL FUZZY! (i porgressively raised my voice as if to act that a i couldn't hear her.)
Lady: Sir can you hear me?
Me: Sorry I just can't seem to hear you, IM GOING TO HANG UP NOW!
Lady: Hello, hello you there sir?
Me: WHAT WAS THAT AGIAN?!
She hung up after that.

Me- Hello
India- Hello can i please speak to a Mr Grendinnink (they cant pronounce my last name ever)
Me- Yes you are speaking to Mr A Glendinning
India- how are you today sir I am calling on behalf of some business ive never heard of i just want you to know you can now save on your long distance phone calls.....
Me- Ohhhhhh so tell me how much would it cost me to say call India and tell you to stop calling me you stupid *****muncher.
India- hangs up

and when its stuff other than long distance phone savings i usually and just very rude to them and tell them where to go.....

i hate them but i just love ****ing with them


ohhh and some times you can tell its them when theyre calling since the caller ID says unavailable I pick up the phone and before they can say anything or i say hello i just go "Can i please speak to Leeroy" confuses the hell out of them every time

but their method was that when the telemarketer picks up, pretend you're a police officer and that they just called a house where a murder have just happened and that you ask the person if they could come in for questioning.
