I think that seeing as PS3 and 360 are more or less taking care of the more "hardcore" (i use that term loosely) gamers, Nintendo are trying to appeal to more of a broad range of folk, which is more or less evident with the wii. N64 was fun times but seeing as consoles are becoming more central to the home entertainment the companies have decided to take another approach, while ps3 offers music and media compatibility, 360 somewhat of the same but not as much you have the Wii that has more of an appeal to everyone in the family, not just the gamers or ones inclined to play a console

I realy think that the gamecube was the best designed system ever, just shame about the selection of games.

Wow we must be polar opposites the N64 was my favourite system of all time and still has 2 of my favourite games on it. The GCN I also preferred to my Wii. I do play the games on my Wii now which makes it kind of pointless owning the other console but saves me plugging two in. I stopped playing my GCN after the Wind Waker came out, I never really STARTED playing my Wii. The only time I play it now is to have a bash at Timesplitters 2 again.

I actually regret buying a Wii so far its held absolutely no interest to me. Zelda and FPS were always my favs on console and believe it or not I rather use a controller than the WiiMote for FPS.
