US Democratic Convention:

Tuesday: Michelle Obama, Ted Kennedy, Michelle's Brother.

Wednesday: Hilary Clinton.

The battle in the general will be great to watch unfold, but I don't know if the Republicans can dismiss themselves far enough from Bush and the War to get a third term. This is why Clinton is still fighting so hard for the nomination. She won't become Vice President either becuase Michelle Obama and Clinton don't get on at all.

You could take that argument, but you can also take the argument that the US is the most influential country in the world and we need to take an interest in our allies and partners.

Well I haven't been following the US elections for the same reason I mentioned above. But from what little I've seen on American talk shows, Obama seems to be the better candidate.

But still...Clint Eastwood should win. NAY...he WILL win.

In the end, I'm not really fussed who is the eventual president, but I am hoping, for the sake of the families and children of the troops who are currently serving their duties, that they will catch a break.

getting past Clintons blewclintsky thing... he was a great president... and the blewclintsky things doesnt bother me any at all... and america is in a world of hurt now thanks to bush... it will take alot, and i do mean ALOT to clean up the messes made... experience i feel will be key to this clean up process... experience i feel obama doesnt have sadly... he could make it in and do a great job, but then he could make it in and fold under the great pressure that will be imposed upon him... if he can handle it, great, but otherwise america is gonna be hurt even more... and yes that will effect the world as well.. is it worth the risk? no one knows much about obama enuff to even guesstimate how he might be... and from some of the ways he has handled his own progress in the elections, i am worried...

Clinton has the strong backing of someone who knows the ropes, and i feel she would more than handle the job... she will be different than Bill in how she does things, but that experience will be invaluable to getting america back on it's feet...

with what all is coming, the war is the least of our worries... and obama i feel and fear will not be up to the challenge...

I don't regard the US as our ally, rather I regard us as theirs. Until such time as we require assistance and they give it without prevarication then I will maintain that view.

Also, they may have been the most influential country in the world, but my guess is there will be a significant shift in that regard back towards China, Russia and potentially the EU.

Obama may not be taking money directly from lobbying firms, but he sure doesn't mind people related to those firms giving him a helping hand.
