Game Cube \ Whats with all the Metroid Prime 2 hate?

I've just been on a couple of seperate forums discussing the Metroid games and when people were putting in thier top 5 fav Metroid games, none of them, at all, even remotly thought of putting in Metroid Prime 2. 1 and 3 were in there, as well as Super Metroid and Metroid 1, even Hunters, but Prime 2 was nowhere to be seen. Personally i LOVE Prime 2, almost as much as Prime 1. It was a step in the right direction for a sequal, and the jumping back and forwards between light and dark was hella cool. Is it just me tho. Do people really hate Prime 2 as a general rule? Opinions please!

I enjoyed Metroid 2 and like you Foetoid I liked the concept of jumping between light and dark worlds. I did think Metroid 2 was easier than the first but that maybe because I was already familiar with the controls after playing Metroid 1.
Metroid 3 is a great game that looks good and plays good but Nintendo noobed it up a little so that killed the game a little.
If I had a top 5 it would be:
Metroid Prime 1
Super Metroid
Metroid Prime 3
Metroid prime 2
Metroid NES

I actually hated MP1. Felt as though you didn't know where the hell you're supposed to go and finding all the missiles and power-ups were tougher to find. MP2 was a bit longer i must admit.

In order it's be Metroid Prime 3, 1, then 2. I found Echoes a little bit annoying occasionaly going through Light and Dark worlds. Some bosses were also a bit gay, like Quadraxis. I did like the power-ups though.
BTW how do some of you people find 100% without a walkthrough!!??

That's how I felt. Looking back at both MP1 and 2 again though, I think that Echoes is a (marginally) superior title.

Yeah I'd probably agree with that, had the release order been switched (ignoring plot issues in this hypothetical) I reckon MP1 would have copped the same reaction

They are sweet. Awesome concept for a main enemy force. And the way they steal and use your weapons agianst you? Coolest idea ever. Unorthidox, but awesome. And since when are games orthidox in the first place. Anyone who doesn't like Echoes, go home. Play corruption, then you wil know which is the worst prime game. It was good, but not as good as number 1 or 2.

Definately had the atmosphere, but I think the dark world could have been better excecuted. Ings do rock. Loved fighting those tough enemies. Maybe some people found MP2 too hard or confusing
