Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn- A new dawn has begun - 9/10
Gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay in Radiant Dawn was pretty basic and straightforward. If you are a newcomer, the game offered tutorials to tell you how certain things work and how to do certain things such as fighting or healing. In order to beat this game, you will need to come up with strategies to overcome seemingly impossible situations. Once you attack, a scene opens showing the two characters fighting and their health bars. Another challenge is when a non-important character dies, they are gone and you can never play as them again; at the beginning, the game makes sure this doesnt happen but after that you are on your own. So if your a strategy-thinking person, this is your game!
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics in the game aren't the greatest but it is great! On the map, the scenery is real detailed and in fights, the magic attacks are good too. While the characters seem not to have much detail in battles, their armor and weapons have alot of detail to them. In the cutscens are where the graphics are at its best!
Story: 10/10
If there is one thing I liked most about this game, it would have to be the epic story! Radiant Dawn takes place three years after Path of Radaince. The country of Daein has been crushed and is being ruled with an iron fist by Begnion. New characters are introduced in the game such as Micaiah as well as some familiar faces from the prequel like Sothe. The story is divided into four parts, instead of it all being piled together; this is because certain characters go through their own adventures which all add up in the final part.
Sound: 8/10
The music in the game was definitely something good to listen to!
In battles, there was good music in the background and when you are on the map, there is great music. As for sound effects, all of the attack sounds were the same but they were still good. Also, each situation had its own theme music such as getting a new ally or bosses.
Controls: 9/10
You can use three different methods of controlling: classic controller, wiimote sideways, and the original gamecube controller. I have played the game through with the sideways wiimote and the gamecube controller and I prefer the wiimote sideways. The control pad doesn't slip up as much as the gamecube conroller's analog stick. With the wiimote, control pad to move, "2" to select, "+" for start/pause and "1" to go back. If you use gamecube controller: "A" to select, "B" to go back, analog stick to move.
Overall: 9/10
This game gets this as its overall score because it is a great game but it is not perfection. With various controls, simple gameplay, awesome story, and great music it is an epic game!
