Silverfan1 on Paper Mario VC - 9/10

Paper Mario is the first of 3 Paper Mario games. It used in a 3D environment with many places to explore and discover.

Story = Paper Mario starts with the Star rod (Which grants wishes by the 7 star Spirits) is stolen by King Bowser and Kammy Koopa, his loyal servent. He steels the star rod so he can become invinceble and rule over Mushroom Kingdom. He also captures the 7 spirtes which are the only things that can stop him, and places them in card and hides them around the kingdom, so no one will get them. Meanwhile Mario and Luigi get invited to Peach's party in her castle which they attend. Bowser attacks! and Peach's Castle is lifted of the ground by Bowser's castle which is located hidden underground!Princess Peach gets Kidnaped!!! Mario is chucked of the castle into Goomba village... The 7 star sprites use there last be a power to tell mario he has to save the 7 sprites then he can beat bowser who is invinceble...Mario meets many "Sidekicks" and Characters who can help along his big advanture...

Gameplay = The Gameplay of Paper Mario is simple. First, You can use the Classic controller or the Gamecube controller. There is 8 chapters of the story each in diffrent locations around Mushroom Kingdom. There is some RPG parts to the game which make it more intesting. Also instead of jumping on goomba or koopa's to kill them, There is turn based battles which can take time and do get frustating. Also thoughout the game you will get sidekicks! These guys will help you pass the game. Like Goombario who gives you info or theres Bombette who can destory cracks in walls. They can level up aswell when u find certian things also Mario level up during battles after getting 100 stars points! You get 3 options when leveling up. 5 more health points? 3 more badge points? or 5 more flower points? Health is health...I dont have to explian that lol and Flower points allow u to do powerful attacks! and Badge points allows you to use more badges. Badges are like upgrades, there Jumping upgrades even hammer upgrade.Discover loads of badges thoughout the games. Paper Mario had Puzzles aswell! Also travel the huge world and buy items from shops! Get coins by beating baddies.

Controls = Paper Mario has good controlls. The classic controll works best i say. Anyone can play Paper Mario! Which is always great! There easy to master as well!

Overall = I enjoyed Paper Mario, every minute of it! The was never a dull moment! The Text is quite easy to read aswell! The bad bit about this game is that once u complete it, you cant save! Theres many sidequests to do but you wanna leave them to after u complete the game, you cant! which sucks really. But its very fun while it lasts! Its a must buy! It costs 1000 points on VC N64.
