Wii Play - 6/10

Only buy this game if a) you need another wii remote or b) you have friends to play it with. defiantly not a game you can sit there and enjoy by yourself for more than 10 minutes. can be pretty fun though when your playing against your mates.

the mini games lack depth but i guess what do expect for a game bundled with a controller for $80. very much what you pay is what you get in this case.

the game basically works like this..

9 minigames, you get rated on your performance in medals. there are four grades.

Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platnium


The Minigames

1. Shooting Range
probably one of the more fun games in the package but seems to be very easy. To start with you can only play this mini game put once you have played it you can advance through to the next game and continue this til all the games are unlocked. on my second go at this game i got a gold medal and third try a platnium medal. still it is very fun a really good when playing multiplayer

2. Find Mii
This is kind of like wheres wally. you have to find certain miis in a crowd or find a pair of miis. there is a time limit and every time you acheive your goal 10 seconds is added on. kinda of fun. challenging.

3. Table Tennis
nothing like the tennis from wii sports which is what i was expecting. basically this minigame requires you to rally for as long as possible. it will really test your concentration.

4. Pose Mii
This one is kind of strange and who ever came up with the idea is very imaginative. you control your mii with the wii remote. you press a and b to change the mii's pose and put the mii in a bubble with that pose on it before it hits the bottom of the screen. i don't like it. some people mite though

5. Laser Hockey
This is cool. just like air hockey but on wii. not much explaining here. just got 2 minutes to score as many goals as possible

6. Billards
This game is also a fun one to play. you hold b pull back on the remote then thrust it foward to hit the cue ball. you have to pocket the balls in order from 1 to 9. or atleast hit the ball with the lowest number first. pity there couldnt be a few variations with this one. a dedicated pool game could be good.

7. Fishing
Fishing can get boring and frustrating in real life and this oe captures thw whole frustration part from real life and reflects it well. I found it hard to control the fishing rod and to point it in the right direction in the pond. basically you hold the hook in front of the fish's mouth and wait for it to bite the jerk the remote up. Also, the is a type of fish that will give you double points. the type of fish is indicated at the top of the screen.

8. Charge!
This mini game is fun but after i got a perfect score and got the platnium medal i havn't bothered playing it again. your mii is on a cow looking thing that looks as if its been knitted. you hold the wii remote on its side like a steering wheel. tilt it foward to go fast, left to go left, and right to go right. your objective is to knock down as many scarecrows as fast as you can.

9. Tanks!
This game reminds me of something i mite have played on an Atari years ago. this game also give you the option to use the nunchuck. you objective is to blow up the other tanks on the screen with either for missiles or land mines. as the levels progress more tanks oppose you and the skill required to defeat them increases. using the nunchuck in this game gives the user a greater amount of control. this game would have to be one of the more funner games in the package.
