Super Mario World through the eyes of the Moose - 9/10

Mario has decided to take a well deserved vacation to dinosaur land with his dear friends and family Lugi and Peach. now maybe you don't agree with me but I can easily say this is the best Mario platformer EVER! I have played evey single Mario platformer and I have to say this tops all of them. like one of my previous reviews I will divide this review into sections. these sections are Story, Gameplay, and Graphics.

Story
now the story in this game seems a bit complex for the Super Nintendo time but still easy to grasp on to. it starts with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach leave the the Mushroom Kingdom to take a vacation in Dinosaur Land. upon arrival you guessed it Mario's vacation is ruined and poor Princess Toadstool is kidnapped by the pestering King Koopa Bowser. Mario & Lugi stumble upon their good friend Yoshi after the Princess is kidnapped. Yoshi tells them that Bowser has taken Dinosaur Land for it is rich in resouces and tells them that a curse has been put on the land that has put Yoshi's other dino friends in eggs and has turned all of the inhabitants of inosaur land into "zombies" just like in other Mario games jump on their head and they're dead. Boser has also taken 6 other kingdoms and has sent his many children to protect their castles.

Gameplay
Like in previous Mario games all it takes is a stomp on the head and your enemies are dead. I think this is the best Mario platformer mainly because of Yoshi. In this game you can ride Yoshi snd he can come in hand a lot. Yoshi can eat enemies and spit them back at other enemies and some times eating enemies gives you certain powers like spittng fire, koopa shells, or flying. this game offers the ability to fly like Super Mario Bros. 3 had introduced but this time you have a cape and you can keep yourself in the air by hold the directional button opposite to the way you're flying. this game also offers the traditional power ups like the Mushroom and Fireflower. this game is no differnt from the Mario games before it (mius Super Mario Bros. 2) you try to get from point A to point B.

Graphics
as you may or may have not noticed this game is a lot more colorful than earlier Mario games. mainly this is because previous games were on an 8-bit system but that doesn't mean they couldn't add more color. Mario's face really starts to take a sort of 3D shape in this game. though this game's graphics don't match up to DK Country's graphics it was a start for Nintendo. the graphics are over all great for it's time but with a little work they could've been better.

If you are a hard core Mario fan (like myself) download this now on your Wii. If you don't like these kinds of video games don't buy it just as simple as that it's your loss. this game is definitly something to at least try it was a great game in it's day and is still great today.
